We walked into the place thanks to the 4.5 star review here and I wish we didn't.
The two of us got a grill platter for two to share and there's definite value for money. We couldn't eat even half of it, but it also wasn't really good enough to try. There were lots of different meats but they were all overcooked and a bit dry and tough.
We also asked for no onion - the server said there was none but there were onion rings and onion in some of the vegetable mixes. Being an allergy it could have been a problem if we hadn't noticed.
While the server was lovely and friendly, they also informed us after the meal was over that the service charge wasn't included and we needed to give a 10% tip - we did but it didn't feel right.
To top it all off their are a lot of racist images and even some sexist signs. Wouldn't have even ordered from this place if we had noticed the gollywog style...

We started with a goulash, asked the waiter if it contains meat- he said it doesnt ("only potatos")- it came with so many things other then potatoes, including beef- vegeterians be aware. Then we moved to the main courses, I ordered a fish and my boyfriend ordered a burger. My fish was the most unfresh fish I ever tasted. The salad that came with the fish was swimming in unrecognized dark water and was drowned in mayo. The potatoes tasted like butter( it seems like the local prefer it like that? We saw it in other places). My boyfriend's burger was apparently made from old meat since additionally to the fact that it had no taste at all, it made him sick. To conclude, we ate about 1/4 of the meal and started feeling pretty sick , paid the bill and left. don't go there- don't do that...
Read moreWhere do I start with this place... I'm going to zell for nearly 20 years and I think this place is what keeps me going back. The food is unreal... Everything tastes amazing. I always go for the snails for starters and got a few of the gang converted this year. Steak, pasta diablo, pawn pasta, ribs, corn on the cob, jacket potato... Unbelievable place. What also keeps us going back is the staff.... Marcel and Christoph have been amazing to us and we were honored to spend new years eve having a toast with Marcel... He's really part of our holiday. The kids love him and his memory is unbelievable... He remembers our drink orders and how we like the drinks and food year on year.... And he's a gentleman as well. We eat here every night when on holidays and wouldn't have it any other way...I can't say...
