The worst experience I've had since leaving the US (spent 25 yrs in VA, PA & DE) and returning home 5 years ago. The experience was reminiscent of living while Black in America...But I'm a Bahamian in The Bahamas, surely there is no (...ism) here! My wife and I went for dinner with plans to sit outside. We did not make reservations so were flexible regarding seating availability and/or wait time. The hostess (Moesha) was impersonal and non-accomodating from the outset - stating no available seating outside and that outdoor seating was booked out for the rest of the evening. We placed our order to go. Twenty minutes later a group of 4 (Caucasians) came with reservations for Indoor seating, but before being seated they changed their minds and requested outdoor seating. Moesha check the outdoor Dining area and when she returned beckons the group to follow her outside - while I'm standing 5 feet away from her and the group. After she seated them I questioned her how she was able to find seating for 4 people almost immediately while unable to find seating for my wife and I for over 20 minutes -- the response from her and the manager are not worth me typing here. There is a part of me that feel this was just piss poor customer service...but there is another part that simply feel like the many times I felt marginalized while working/living in white/corporate America...either way I will never...
Read moreIt was my first time there and I was so excited because I heard it was all the rave. The reservation app was really impressive so I was super stoked to get there. On arrival we had to wait a few minutes to be seated, ok fine as we were a few minutes early. We sat outside seeing that the night was fairly cool and engaged in hardy conversation only to realize that we were 20 minutes past our reservation time. There was still no table available and by this time I was peeved because it was awesome friend Gia's birthday and they were killing the vibe.
Finally after an hours wait we were seated.😞So we ordered our food and can I tell you I was not impressed. The tempura shrimp were nice, we got the something something rice which was just ok and the Mai Mai. That fish was not pleasant to the palate and we had to send it back. Desert was good as well as the drinks they make a killer peach lemonade.
The highlight of my night however was our waiter Shane and sitting beside my favorite Eyewitness News reporter, (Theodore Elliette.😍😍😍). Shane was awesome, he saw my irritation and ask what was wrong, to which I replied; it's my first time here and I think it will be my last. He apologized and made it his business to make sure I was in a better mood, which I was by the time I exited. Overall I won't be going back but the place is...
Read moreBartender was great. I arrived and was told that I could drink at the Sushi bar but couldn’t eat there because of Covid. I was given a table but was told I had a limited time to eat. I received less than quarter size sushi and a roll. Costs was $9 and $18 for a pinky sized portions of sushi. I have eaten better sushi at a cheap conveyor sushi bar 300 miles from an ocean. I ventured to the bar to wash down the sushi and noticed others were eating at the sushi bar. I inquired and was told they only allowed two people to eat at the sushi bar, but others could drink at the sushi bar; they just couldn’t eat. I guess the science says that drinking at a sushi bar and not eating is safer. I don’t mind paying for good sushi, but I had to stop at Wendy’s on the way home so I wouldn’t starve after spending $120 at this place. Summary: this place is a complete rip off. No one came to the table while I was drinking and not eating at the sushi bar and there was plenty of tables open...
