Skin Solutions Day Spa & Salon — Local services in New Providence

Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing spa experiences I’ve had. I arrived a bit late for my appointment but called ahead, and the staff assured me it was no problem.

The ambiance was just okay. Not as clean or relaxing as I expected, but I was still hopeful going into my treatments. I had booked a Deep Tissue Massage and a Deep Pore Facial, but neither service lived up to its description.

The massage lacked any real pressure or technique. The therapist applied oil and lightly moved her forearms across my back with little variation or focus. My upper back, lower back (which I specifically needed attention on), and neck were completely neglected. At several points, it genuinely felt like the therapist was distracted, possibly even using her phone, as the movements would pause for stretches, only to resume suddenly and inconsistently.

When asked to turn over for the head portion of the massage, I experienced what could only be described as a few light taps on my scalp. It felt rushed, inattentive, and completely ineffective. I eventually chose to end the session early, as it felt like a waste of time.

I voiced my concerns to the manager, but the response I received was, “You should’ve said something earlier in the massage.” While I understand that feedback during a session can help, I had booked a Deep Tissue Massage...it shouldn’t require prompting to deliver the basic expectations of that service.

As for the Deep Pore Facial, they offered to assign a different technician since I was unhappy with the first, which I appreciated. The second therapist was more attentive, and the experience was slightly better. She also included a neck and shoulder massage that actually met the expectations I had for the original deep tissue massage. However, the facial itself was underwhelming...very surface-level skincare that I easily could have done myself at home. There was nothing "deep" about it, and I left with visible congestion still in my pores, which I had hoped would be addressed during the treatment.

Overall, the experience fell far below what was promised. The service lacked professionalism, quality, and care...especially disappointing given the time and...

This experience truly exceeded every expectation I had. It was my very first facial, so I walked in a little nervous, especially since I know my skin needed a lot of work. From the moment I arrived, Natila made me feel completely comfortable, never judged, never rushed. Instead, she treated my skin like her own personal project, coming prepared with real solutions and a clear passion for what she does. What impressed me most was that it never felt like “just another appointment”. You can tell Natila genuinely cares. She put in the effort not only to work on my skin but also to make me feel informed about the process itself. I left feeling not just refreshed, but more confident and hopeful about my skin than I’ve...

I was so disappointed in my recent visit. The service was not enjoyable at all. It didn't have a spa feel to it, not even for a moment. I went in for a pedicure, and the person providing said "service" was speaking at me, and not to me, she just wasn't pleasant to interact with. So much so that another tech came over to help me because she simply refused to even give me the color polish I wanted. In the past, I've had good experiences here.
