So basically, my friends and I had plans to visit Boho Dhanmondi on June 30th, but a few days before that, I was showing my parents the place, the menu, and all the aesthetic food pics . and they got super interested. So we ended up going there on June 28th. We ordered two Pad Thai noodles, one Tom Yum soup, one crispy morning glory salad, and one roasted chicken. Honestly, the Tom Yum soup was pretty good , it had a nice balance of flavor and spice. But the morning glory was disappointing not crispy at all, and the prawn Pad Thai was extremely dry. The roasted chicken was okay, nothing memorable. What really ruined the experience, though, was the service. There was this female staff member who seemed super busy (which I get), but we weren’t even given basic things like napkins or tissues, while every other table had them. We had to ask for tissues three times before they finally brought them, and that just felt careless and unfair. However I really liked the fact that they always asked if we want them to serve or not so that’s really nice.
Then came the second visit on June 30th with my friends and the experience was completely different. We were the first customers of the day (literally entered around 12:15 PM),and we ordered one tom yum soup , one chicken pad Thai and one morning glory salad and coke . So about this I think one glass coke for 90 taka is extremely high. However in contrast, the service and food were top notch. Everything tasted amazing, and I finally felt like, “Okay, this might just be my new favorite spot.” But when I told my friends about the earlier experience, they joked that maybe we only got treated well this time because we were first customers. That honestly annoyed me — it shouldn’t take being the first table of the day to get decent service. I still like Boho, but this kind of inconsistency and biased treatment...
Read moreThey are good and recommendable if you know what you are getting yourself into. They serve close to authentic Thai dish. If you have a taste palate suitable for authentic Thai food you will enjoy their food. Although I very much liked them I couldn't rate them 5 star because of their price. Thier atmosphere and specially their service is not up to the mark for the amount they are charging. The price you see on the menu is exclusive of vat and service charge which in total is 15%+. So keep that in mind when you order. The disappointing thing is they have more than enough stuff to take care of their guests but they do such a bad job of utilizing their numbers that you need to wait a lot for the service which should be instantaneous if you are paying that high of a price in Dhanmondi. Now let's come to the food.... Their chicken satay with coconut sauce was fabulous (4.8/5). I would say it is a must try if you go their. BOHO special fried rice is also good(4.5/5). It is full of sea food. Beef holy basil was a bit spicy but it was balanced with the fired rice we ordered (4.2/5). We also had their stirred fried seafood in young coconut. It was served within a coconut and it was delicious. It was filled with different kinds of seafood like prawn, squid/calamari, crab etc. It was really creamy, highly recommended (4.7/5). We also had their coconut milk drink which has filled with coconut but for the price it was nothing special (3/5). We tried only one of their deserts Mango sticky rice with coconut ice-cream which was average at best (3.2/5). For the price, it is not a place I highly recommend but if you are up for some Thai food and doesn't mind splashing some cash then you can...
