I was incrediblly hyped to visit this restaurant and I must say I had an overall disappointing experience. It wasn’t bad but it didn’t meet my expectations either. One of the biggest reasons I wanted to try out this restaurant was its ambience and unfortunately when we reached there, the place was going through some renovation so we were seated at the opus lounge which by no means looks and feels like a premium fine dining space. I was extremely frustrated because of that. The food for the most part was good but far from perfect which shouldn’t be the case considering how mindbogglingly expensive it is. We took the surf and turf platter which had steak, salmon, prawn and chicken and it cost 13k bdt. The steak was incredibly mid. I was told by quite a few people that this place has some of the best steaks out there and that's so not true. The outer crust was sad af, the meat was a little too chewy, the only saving grace was the sauce which was fabulous btw. The salmon and prawn were fantastic, no complaints there. The chicken tasted good but was completely dry. The dessert was fantastic. We had the the crepe suzette which is something I never tried before and my first time experience was genuinely good. The aqua passion mocktail was also very refreshing and enjoyable. The coffees however were mediocre. The servicing was the best part of my experience at the amber room. Our server was very approachable and helpful. The behaviour of the staff overall seemed quite nice. We were provided with welcome drink and appetizer. The drink was orange juice and the appetizer was lobster roulade which weirdly to me was one of the best dishes of the night. We were also given some high quality bread and butter. We had three types of butter: normal, pimento and pistachio. I liked the pistachio one the most. The pimento one was good as well although it had a much subtler flavour than the pistachio butter. Now comes the best bit of the service, we were three people in total but I ordered only one dessert since my partners didn’t want any. However the staff offered two extra desserts completely on the house for my partners and I sincerely appreciated their heartfelt gesture. Overall not a bad experience but could've been better. Our total cost was 16k bdt and if it was lower and if we could've sat at the main restaurant, I think then it'd have been worthwhile but for now I'm not recommending amber room to anyone.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this steakhouse, and it truly stands out as one of the best for steaks in the country. The ambience perfectly captures the essence of a classic steakhouse, creating a delightful atmosphere. The service surpassed expectations, earning a well-deserved 100/10 rating. The staff's attention to detail and commitment to ensuring a memorable dining experience truly set this place apart. Now, let's talk about the stars of the show – the Tomahawk Steak and Brisket. Both were nothing short of phenomenal, showcasing the culinary mastery of the kitchen. However, the starters and dessert left much to be desired. Despite the hefty price tag, the salmon tartare resembled more of a lox style than the expected tartare style. The avocado salad suffered from unripened avocados, diminishing the overall quality. The crab cake was a major letdown, tasting more like a crab aloo chop than a genuine crab cake, thanks to the unfortunate pairing with mashed potatoes. To add to the disappointment, a single crab cake came with a steep price of BDT 2,200. The cherry on top of our dining experience was the unexpected delight of receiving a special dessert on the house for our special occasion. This thoughtful gesture added a sweet touch to our overall experience, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to creating memorable moments for its patrons. Despite the mixed reviews on starters and dessert, the complimentary treat exemplified the establishment's dedication to customer satisfaction and left us with a warm and positive impression. In conclusion, while the steaks and service are reasons enough to visit, the starters and dessert may leave you wanting more for the price paid.

The Amber Room at the Intercontinental Hotel offers an exceptional dining experience with its luxurious ambiance and top-tier service. The dinner buffet is a feast for the senses, featuring an extensive spread of international and local cuisines, catering to a variety of tastes. From fresh seafood and tender meats to an array of salads, soups, and perfectly cooked main courses, every dish is crafted with precision and flavor. The live cooking stations add an interactive touch, allowing guests to customize dishes to their preferences. The dessert selection is equally impressive, with an assortment of cakes, pastries, and traditional sweets that leave a lasting impression. The elegant decor, attentive staff, and serene atmosphere elevate the dining experience, making it perfect for special occasions or indulgent evenings. While on the pricier side, the Amber Room’s buffet delivers a memorable culinary journey worth every penny.
