I recently visited XINXIAN Restaurant and had a very interesting dining experience. There are several aspects to this place, both positive and areas for improvement, which I'd like to share.
First and foremost, the service provided by our waiter, Helal Uddin, was exceptional. Helal's attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and genuine enthusiasm for ensuring we had a pleasant dining experience truly stood out. From the moment we were seated, Helal made us feel welcome and took the time to explain the menu items and make recommendations based on our preferences. His knowledge of the dishes and his patience with our questions made a significant difference in our overall experience. It's not often you come across such dedicated service, and Helal deserves special recognition for his efforts.
The food at XINXIAN Restaurant is another highlight. The flavors are authentic, and the dishes are prepared with care. We tried several items, including the [specific dish names if known], all of which were delicious and well-presented. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and the portion sizes were generous. For anyone who appreciates Chinese food, XINXIAN is definitely worth a visit.
However, there are some aspects of the restaurant that could use improvement. The ambiance of the place is quite dated. The decor looks like it hasn't been updated in years, which gives the restaurant an old and somewhat neglected feel. While some might find this charming, others might feel that it detracts from the overall dining experience. A little modernization or even some minor renovations could go a long way in enhancing the atmosphere and making it more inviting.
Another point to mention is that the restaurant is quite busy. While this is a testament to the popularity and quality of the food, it can also mean longer wait times and a noisier environment. If you’re looking for a quiet, intimate meal, this might not be the ideal spot during peak hours. However, the hustle and bustle also add a lively energy to the place, which some diners might enjoy.
In summary, XINXIAN Restaurant offers delicious food and exceptional service, thanks especially to Helal Uddin. Despite the outdated decor and the bustling atmosphere, the overall experience is quite positive. If you're in the mood for some great Chinese food and don't mind a busy restaurant, XINXIAN is definitely worth checking out. With a few updates to the interior, it could be...

Today we had lunch consisting of Tom Yum Soup, Fried Rice, Dry Chili Beef, and Chicken with Basil Leaf. Unfortunately, the overall food experience was highly disappointing, especially given the high pricing.
Tom Yum Soup: This was the biggest letdown. It neither had the classic Tom Yum flavor nor any hint of Thai herbs. Instead, it tasted like a strange mix of cream of chicken soup and some other unidentified base — surprisingly, even had a beresta (fried onion) flavor. Completely off from what a Tom Yum should be.
Fried Rice: While the portion and variety of ingredients were generous, it lacked all the typical fried rice aromas and flavors. It tasted flat and unseasoned.
Chicken with Basil Leaf: This was slightly better than the rest, deserving a 7/10 at best. Flavor was acceptable, though not outstanding.
Dry Chili Beef: The beef was hard and over-fried, more like a crispy coated item soaked in sauce rather than a proper dry chili beef dish. Very poor in taste and texture.
Overall, I would rate the food 2/10. The service was okay, but not enough to compensate for the poor food quality.
Frankly, it seemed like most of the dishes were either half-prepared, reheated, or made with old ingredients. The flavors were missing, and the execution felt unprofessional. It gives the impression that the chef is not up to the standard expected for restaurants in Dhaka.
Sadly, this was not the kind of dining experience we expected. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and improves both their kitchen standards and...

The atmosphere and ambience doesn't resemble anything close to a fine dining restaurant. The ground floor looks like it's just another street restaurant. The cutlery, lighting, tables and chairs, the manners and speaking tones of the servers and even the crowd resembles a Star Kabab like vibe. If I wanted to go to Star, I wouldn't have gone to Xinxian and pay 4 times the price for my perils.
I also think their servers are instructed to practice a social class hierarchy. I went there with my dad wearing a plain T, jeans and typical Bangladeshi sandal shoes. After looking at the sketchiness of the ground floor, we asked them if we could sit on the 2nd floor. They didn't let us go upstairs citing that some party was going on. However, I noticed a signboard saying the party was on the 3rd floor. I saw many people, who were wearing the so called typical 'Chinese restaurant attires' going upstairs. I am pretty sure their decision not to seat us upstairs had a lot to do with my simple attire. But I did pay the same price for food....
