MEATUP — Restaurant in Sylhet Division

Full review: As someone from the UK, this steak house is good for being in Bangladesh, Sylhet. I am giving it 4* due to It being in Bangladesh, however if it was in the UK I would rate it 3*. Service was good and we received our steaks within half and hour but they are very slow in serving chicken dishes as their oven takes a lot of time. They rarely serve their Chinese options due to the demand of it, therefore supply will also be limited...also, it's a steak house. Now the important part - the steak: I ordered a medium rare T-Bone steak but I received it well done. If I received it medium-well I would have let them off and given 5*. Everyone who ordered a medium rare in my group got it well done. So don't expect a steak cooked to how you want it. Price: Amazing and affordable price for steak. A T-Bone steak (with two sides) is 1345 tk which comes out to around £11.70..that is a GREAT price. T-Bone steaks without sides in the UK can cost you up to £30. I would recommend getting a sirloin/ribeye as they are much jucier,tender and cheaper! 1145-1245 tk. Atmosphere: Interior design is spot on, with filament bulbs and a clean environment. Family friendly and welcoming waiters. There's an outdoor space too, which I wouldn't recommend eating in due to the pollution of Bangladesh ruining your experience..and your steak. All in all a solid 4/5....

Finally, we managed to get some time to eat at Meatup, arguably the best steakhouse in Sylhet or maybe the only one. I want to start with the service, which was very impressive. We were short on time, and they took care of it by delivering the food on time. For appetizers, we ordered the skewered prawns, and they were delicious, a bit spicy, which they informed us about ahead of ordering. We ordered two steaks: ribeye and T-bone. I liked the ribeye better, but the T-bone was fine, too. They recommended medium rare, and we agreed, since they serve the steak on a hot skillet, so medium rare is their recommendation. We also got some sort of cheesy chicken, and it was different, but we didn't enjoy it that much. I wouldn't say it was a waste of money, but I would recommend getting something else. The side dishes that came with the steak were decent. The fried rice was average, but I liked the spicy potatoes. Oh, also, the sauce they provide with the steak is redundant. I have been to meet up three times up until now. The first time, all the dishes were really good but steak. Since it’s a steakhouse we expect better steak. But there is always a but. First of all, I would say it’s ok for Sylhet. Again, pro eater like us not enough lol. Second time, we repeated the dishes we had first time dishes weren’t same. So I would say no consistency. The third time, I ask the server like him first-time shrimp skewer was nice the second time it wasn’t “, so if it’s gonna be good I would like to order. And we had few new dishes surprisingly all of them was great including their new mock-tail called “snow mint”.
