As a south indian, I tried their food. They charge a hell lot of a amount. Its like eating in a 5 star hotel in South India. Taste is not that great. Its ok.

Edit:

I had a great time finding good food in mountains for years now. Unfortunate times I end up in restaurant like yours.

I expressed this straight to the management in the Avva's counter. I did tell them food is not that great and on top of that its being charged hell lot.

Chapathi is a north Indian bread, its not sold for 2 pc 200 in South India. And vice versa for the idly. If you tell the idly cost is 50 Rs and the view and ambience which I had costed the rest. Then I would say the view and ambience doesnt worth it. I have had better views and experience in mountains than Avva's at a very nominal charges.

You term in such a way that what you are serving is a rare delicacy, whereas the truth is these things are pretty common food.

And this is my common Customer opinion and way of expression how I felt. I hope you take this progressively.

Edit 2: Great then let me put it this way. The view of paragliding people flying in the backyard was great. I put a chair sit outside the restaurant and I can enjoy the same view.(however I have rated Atmosphere as 4) The point is I cant rate a restaurant just for ambience and view. Ideally the food should taste good. I should feel justified. Which I was not.

I saw the menu and rates before ordering, When I paid amount for a dosa I expect the following, 2.1 Size of Dosa to be bigger/or 2 small dosa 2.2 The quality of Chutney and Sambhar that is being provided.

My comments are not regarding me affording the Dhosai, but is it worth for the money I paid. How can I tell its worth of the money I paid by seeing the...

AVVA's Cafe in Bir is truly a hidden gem when it comes to South Indian cuisine. I recently had the pleasure of dining there, and it was an absolute delight. The variety of flavors and the quality of the food exceeded my expectations.

I started with the podi dosa, and it was fantastic. The dosa had a perfect crispness, and the podi (spice powder) added a wonderful depth of flavor. It was a delightful combination that left me craving for more. To accompany my meal, I ordered their cold coffee, which turned out to be a standout. It was refreshing, creamy, and had just the right balance of sweetness. It was the perfect accompaniment to my meal.

The special masala dosa at AVVA's Cafe was another highlight. The dosa was perfectly cooked, and the masala filling had a delightful blend of spices. It was flavorful, aromatic, and satisfying. Additionally, I tried their medu vada, which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was seasoned well and was a tasty treat.

Beyond the food, the ambience of AVVA's Cafe is worth mentioning. The cafe exudes a nice and peaceful atmosphere, making it a pleasant place to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

If you find yourself in Bir and craving South Indian food, AVVA's Cafe is a must-visit. From their flavorful podi dosa to the refreshing cold coffee and tasty masala dosa, their menu offers a delightful culinary journey. Coupled with a serene ambience, AVVA's Cafe provides an overall enjoyable experience that will leave...

AVVAs ©️ is hands down one of my favorite spots in Bir, and I’d say it’s a favorite for almost every tourist who visits! It comes highly recommended by both locals and fellow travelers, and after visiting, I can definitely see why. The cafe is located in a great spot, with wonderful seating arrangements both inside and outside, allowing you to enjoy the atmosphere regardless of the weather. They serve the best South Indian food in the area, and their menu is not only diverse but also quite affordable. On the very first day of my visit to Bir, I tried their Ghee Roast Masala Dosa and Filter Coffee for breakfast, and it was absolutely delicious—exactly what I needed to satisfy my hunger and start the day right. I loved the place so much that I decided to have my last meal in Bir at AVVAs on my final day. This time, I tried their Chicken Kheema Dosa and Chicken Biryani, and both dishes were incredibly tasty, definitely some of the best meals I’ve had. To top it off, I had a refreshing drink, which made the entire experience even better. If you’re ever in Bir, AVVAs ©️ is an absolute must-try for anyone craving authentic, mouthwatering South Indian food. It’s a gem in the town, and I can’t wait to visit again! And Yes, they welcome drinks and appetizer which is boiled Channa and Rasam is must try !!!!

This cafe is truly an unmissable experience for food lovers. From the moment you step in, the warmth of the place wraps around you, much like its food, which feels like a comforting hug from home. You're welcomed with a delightful surprise: a small serving of kala chana and rasam—a bold, flavorful start that sets the tone for what's to come. The menu offers a wide range of classic South Indian dishes, each crafted with authenticity and care. Standouts include the Chettinad appe, sabudana khichdi, masala idli, and of course, their signature filter coffee, which is rich, strong, and aromatic. The vadai and idlis are exceptionally well made—soft, spongy, and incredibly satisfying. The chutneys, especially, deserve a special mention; so fresh and flavorful, you’ll find yourself going back for refills (as I shamelessly did!). Beyond the food, the ambiance adds to the charm. The café offers a variety of seating options: cozy indoor corners, glass-covered areas perfect for a rainy afternoon, a peaceful garden space, and even an upstairs section for a breezy view. Whether you're a die-hard fan of South Indian cuisine or just in search of soulful, wholesome food, this café in Bir is an absolute must-visit. Come hungry—you’ll want to try everything.
