Beastie Burgers — Restaurant in Antwerp

This place looks great, they've put a lot of effort in making it a cool burger shack, however, it needs work in terms of the actual burger itself..

The menu looks good with a lot of different options. In terms of service the staff is friendly and they seem to do a good job.

Having spent quite some time living abroad I'd like to think my burger culture is pretty strong. So.. after visiting this place on their opening night I was pleasantly welcomed with a glass of bubbles and some sharing burgers. All of them tasted good but none of them had a decent burger in it. So last weekend I went back to check out the Burgers, I went for a Diamond breaker with chips.. The burger looks good all together and is presented in a tasty way. I'm not a fan of the bun myself, I prefer the soft shiny bun but I know this is personal pref. I asked for bacon to be added and this was crispy just how it should be. The burger itself was a real disappointment!! It was cooked well done, it was rather flat and the texture slightly rubbery. Now call me a geek but when spending 12.50€ for a burger It needs to be darn good!! In my opinion and in pretty much every real burger joint I've been to, they should always ask whether your burger needs to be cooked medium rare or well done. Also, at that price a burger needs to be home made, thick, slightly coarse and juicy!!

As for the chips, they're a pretty poor execution of whatever they need to be, they were not tasty - sorry. The presentation is rather sad in a standard 'frietkot' box and I think considering the efforts made for the interior and whole experience they can do a lot better and they should!

Would I go again, yeah maybe because their chicken burgers are pretty good as for the rest I think they represent the Belgian burger culture pretty good.. We make great food in Belgium but when it comes to burgers and sausages we're...

Never have been to the place so I decided to give it a go and tried it by the 'to good to go' app. When I arrived and I told one of the boys working at the register why I was there, he was visibly annoyed and said: ehh we don't have that here...I don't know what that is. Nonetheless, he went to one of his colleagues asked for something and shortly after came back with a burger in a plastic bag (although the app specifically asks you to bring yout own containers to avoid more waste). He handed me the burger very rudly and when I showed him my phone so he could mark the service as redeemed, he turned around and said: I have no idea about that. Extremely rude personal which made the entire experience bad. Once I had the burger I did not really enjoyed it. I would not recommend this...

Positive: the food was tasty.

Negative:

We had a confirmed reservation with 6 people. There was no table free and no table reserved on arrival at the scheduled time. We waited 45 min for our order. 6 burgers and some fries. We had the impression that there was allot of take away and that these orders were given priority. in terms of customer service, we were told to be more friendly after saying 'we made a reservation' on a normal tone. the toilets had no toilet paper. The men's toilet was completely submerged in p... and we had to go to the staff ourselves to report this.

Came here on the recommendation of friends who had been to Mechelen and were satisfied. I myself will never come...
