If you have known this place to be cosy, it's not like that anymore. They have new owners.
Whenever we're up for a good pizza and quick service, we'd end up here regularly. We are used to a familial cosy italian atmosphere, friendly reception, fast and efficient service. A sense of standing even. We've came for many years now.
But this doesn't exist anymore. Whatever it used to be, it's not anymore.
Today, there were perhaps 3 tables but all was floating in chaos.
The food is ok, but don't expect to be served quick. We waited 40 minutes for a pizza to come out. While there were 3 served tables and no take-away orders are taken. So, the kitchen was not overloaded. In a business that is known to serve 40 tables at a time. For the second dish, we waited another 20 minutes.
I never seen this dynamic, anywhere else, to be honest. There were about 5 people that seemed to be associated or working for the restaurant. That were wandering around in choas and standing around smoking or runing in and out, doing nothing constructive. Completely unaware of anything. While getting progressively more drunk. With the few clients left unable to manage to draw attention of anyone for service.
All I remember is that I sat over an hour waiting for food. While we'd hoped to get a quick bite. And we just sat in an atmosphere of drunkards and smokers. While I rather would have spent my summer evening elsewhere in a different energy.
They charged us 100€ for this experience.
Will never...
Read moreJust left the place. The waitress lady doesnt speak english., replies everything italian. We ordered the food and double checked the order to be sure with that lady.
Then when we got the food and started to eat, another plate came. We said it was not ours and they took it back. Then another plate came we again said it was not ours and it was taken. Then the guy at the bar came with a little anger saying we ordered the meal and need to take it. I was angry, explained ‘second time’ that the meal was not ours. The guy was not pleasant but me neither. Noone speaks english here, half of meals and drinks arrived earlier than others and we needed to discuss with them to reject TWO meals they forced us to accept. I m not accepting it and didnt enjoy anything at all due to this ridicilous discussions. If you re messing the orders like this, then try to communicate english in antwerp, this is not italy i dont have to speak italian and obviously replying everything italian doesnt...
Read moreWent here because there was some mention of gluten-free pasta in the reviews. The servers only spoke Italian, making communication quite difficult, and they seemed quite rushed. As a coeliac, I did not feel very confident eating here, especially because there appeared to be some miscommunication with my drinks order. I thought I had asked for an orange juice, but instead, I received a very large and blue-coloured cocktail, which ended up costing the same price as a meal; €18!!! Not convinced this was a mistake on my part, as the waitress has listed off juice flavours to me, and I had simply picked orange. I was quite upset. The restaurant is definitely family friendly, but this meant that the atmosphere was very noisy, and I could barely hear anyone when trying to have a conversation. My pasta was delicious, but apparently, the lasagna...
