Panos City Antwerpen (Nationalestraat) — Restaurant in Antwerp

Sometimes the staff in this place work well and it's organized other times like today Saturday it's not. Why do I and other customers have to clean the table and the seats ? Why don't the staff clean them ? This should be an automatic thing they do when they have time, but they never clean them !

Why is the toilet roll sometimes not in the holder for weeks ? Why is the soap dispenser in the toilet not cleaned out so it works properly ? Why don't they put a code on the toilet door so only paying customers can use them and then they won't get so messy ? They allow anyone to use them.

Some of the young staff members act like they're working in a prison canteen, like they have no choice and they're depressed ! It's not nice to be served by people like this. Then again they're probably demotivated by poor management and lack of training and support.

In reply to the replies from Panos, I've never seen ANY OF THE STAFF here clean the tables, when there's no customers they'll either go into your back workspace, chat or look at their phones. To say they try to provide a perfect service must surely be a joke !!

Saturday 16th March 2024 update. After improving for a while sadly it's going backwards again ! Miserable guy at the counter who doesn't say please or thank you, dirty tables that are never cleaned. Toilet infested with fruit flies for at least 2 weeks now that they don't do anything about, Toilet roll not in the holder, soap that won't come out of the dispenser. Terrible management, sadly this place never...

This place has gone downhill and doesn't seem to be getting any better. The owners don't care about the customers or the staff really, just their profits. If they cared about the place they'd employ more staff or motivate them better so they would at least clean the tables, the floors and keep the toilets maintained. The tables are never cleaned during opening hours and the place is just plain dirty and grubby ! The men's toilet has also been broken for 6 months, no sign of anyone repairing it either ! Customers from the busy chocolate shop next door spill over, hang out and sit around the outside tables of Panos noisily without buying anything. The customers in Panos also aren't blameless as they often don't clear up after themselves, shout on their phones, play music and generally don't care less about the other customers. Sad to see how a once nice place has...

Its a nice big place, and the food is fine, with clean toilets. However, instead of walking around checking the newspapers are in the right place, the manager should hire some staff who at least smile at customers and are friendly, as the place is staffed by unsmiling robots ! If they want to get more repeat business they should try to be friendlier with the customers. They all play the radio too loud in my opinion. Nationalestraat is a friendly street, this isn't a Panos in a busy shopping mall, so they should try to be a bit more like the other businesses...
