El Warda is niet meer wat het geweest is. Het begint al met je plaats: we kwamen toe in een stampvol restaurant en onze tafel stond tussen twee andere tafels gepropt. Ik geraakte niet aan mijn stoel zonder de tafel opzij te duwen. We zaten zo dicht tegen de andere klanten dat het voor iedereen onbehaaglijk voelde. Je kon zonder veel moeite elkaars gesprekken volgen. Zeer irritant.

De bediening dan. De jongeman in kwestie deed zijn best maar het ontbrak hem volledig aan klantvriendelijkheid. Het leek alsof hij het deed omdat het moest maar nooit kreeg je het gevoel dat je welkom was.

Daarnaast duurde alles ook ontzettend lang. We kwamen toe om 19u30 en kregen ons eten rond 21u45!!! Gelukkig stond er brood op tafel. De tafels rondom ons zaten in dezelfde situatie. Aangezien we allemaal op elkaar gepropt zaten, was iedereen al snel tegen elkaar bezig hoe onnoemelijk lang alles duurde. Nadien hoorde ik van een collega, die toevallig beneden in het restaurant zat, dat ook zij uren hadden moeten wachten maar dat ze wist hoe dat kwam: de deur werd platgelopen door deliveroo-mannekes die bestellingen kwamen halen. dus als klant van het restaurant werd je in de wachtrij gezet.

Het eten zelf was oké maar ook niet meer dan dat. In mijn herinnering was het vroeg veel smakelijker.

Kortom: het lijkt tijd dat de zaakvoerders eens nagaan wat voor zaak ze willen zijn. Nu lijkt het doel: zoveel mogelijk geld binnenrijven, ten koste van de klantenservice - en beleving. Is het echt zo'n ramp om een paar tafels minder te zetten maar daardoor mensen wel een aangenamere avond te bieden? En is het écht nodig dat je non stop beschikbaar bent op deliveroo waardoor je echte klanten het moeten ontgelden? Niet moeilijk dat de kwaliteit van het eten dan ook achterblijft, aangezien niemand van het personeel nog kan volgen. Soit, ik kom hier niet meer terug. Mijn collega van diezelfde avond ook niet, hoorde ik. Wie weet dat er in de toekomst iets...

We booked a table for two. After serving ourselves at the buffet, my girlfriend noticed a hair in her food, not only once but twice, which made her lose her appetite. We called the waiter to tell him about this but he didn't even apologize, not once, telling us that his cooks were hairless, thus blaming it on the clients (and it was clearly not ours). The waiter wasn't even around for 15 minutes, leaving us (and other clients) with no staff in the restaurant.
