Food was good. Much more moist than traditional but worst service I ever had. Very very poorly managed. At first we wanted to order and my friend wanted a wrap, which is written on the menu "not in weekends". We were like "but its friday bro?" Still, it was a no, alright. Than we ordered the mezze where there's the option shaworma. When you look down on the menu, it is marinated meat or chicken. I till him I want the shaworma chicken. We only received the plain chicken. I order 3 different pochettes and I ask my friend "which one did you see again?" She answers and he goes "ah so that one" bro did you not hear all the rest? The rest we ordered also never came, he just decided for us what we were gonna eat apparently. Next he says "sparkling water" okay? You're telling us we need water? But sure we take water, "no, a big bottle STILL water please".. still comes with sparkling water BRO WHERE ARE YOUR EARS. We also did not receive any libanese bread, I am shocked how bad a waiter can treat you. Never came to us to ask how it was, when we were finished complete silence, not wondering how it was "euh señior? Your food was alright, but your service made it a horrible experience. Might take note of it" Never even made eyecontact and we had to stand up so we could ask the bill. Even to top the horrible evening off, they charged us 21% taxes. Never going back much better and friendlier libanese restaurant...
Read moreOrdered a vegetarian mezze plate. Waitress said that I couldn’t pick the mezze because it was a weekend day, which is already a little weird. But I ordered anyways. I got a disappointing selection of mezze on a small plate. One of the mezze was literally artichoke cubes from a jar. That’s not a real mezze. The hummus also contained too much tahini and was bitter. When I told the owner I thought this was poor value for 16.5 euro. He responded that that’s just the way Lebanese food is. I replied that i eat Lebanese food all the time and this was just not very good. He then asked me for which restaurants I eat at, and I gave him a name, to which he replied that that restaurant is not Lebanese and that “those are Jews”. So the owner doesn’t take criticism and is an antisemite as well lol. Good luck with your...
Read moreSnagged one of the last tables available in the small restaurant. It treads the line between cozy and cramped, probably the only thing really keeping it from 5 stars. That and the open stairway right inside the front door - someone not paying attention could well take a tumble!
But I digress. We claimed a small table under the awning, which has some nice views in this historic part of town. There were two people serving, a man and young woman. Both were hustling hard as the last table filled up shortly after sitting.
We had a few starter items that were all delicious, then the kofta (sp?) which was excellent. The only item we didn’t love was a small sausage dish but it wasn’t bad it was just not amazing like everything else.
Prices by Antwerp standards...
