Lina's — Restaurant in Antwerp

Truly appalled by my visit to the store today (and yesterday) for that matter. No smiles nothing. Paggro service by the guy who served me. Use hands without washing to pick up pastries. I was shocked and took time to gather for my next selection and after just a mete 5 seconds he chimed, "you know what im gonna let you think about it and let me know when you are ready" - as he went back to his paperwork. When i told him moments after that is all and i wont add more stuff, he just said okay and when informed i wanted to use card, as soon as he pressed the machine he left me unattended at the counter, no thank you no anythting. I went back to tell him that was really strange of him to do so, still no thank you just "okay"- i hope this aint any microaggressions of some sort towards...

Lina's offers delicious food and drinks, and everything is home-made, with quality ingredients, and a focus on healthy food. However we were truly surprised at the high prices (far from matching the portion sizes) and we were annoyed at the waiting time. Deze bakker zou je zo voorbij lopen door het eerder onopvallende maar historisch ogende geveltje. Eens je binnenkomt word je echter begroet door de heerlijke geur van versgebakken brood en koffie. Ik nam er een 1 kg zwaar "huisbrood" met zuurdesem, rogge en tarwe voor de lunch later die dag. Het is misschien iets duurder dan een ander brood bij de bakker of de supermarkt, maar het is zijn prijs meer dan waard. De textuur en smaak waren top!

Ook de gebakjes worden er gemaakt met zuurdesem, en dat proef je. Ik kon ze niet links laten liggen en nam een kardemom bun bij mijn cappuccino. Deze bun had helemaal niet het vettige, gesuikerde uiterlijk als bij andere bakkers, maar was van smaak en kruiding toch super lekker. Hij leek mij daardoor ook net iets "gezonder" te zijn (tenminste, dat vertel ik mezelf toch). Het extra cakeje dat bij de koffie kwam was eerder miniscuul, dat had er voor mij niet...
