I am giving 5 stars to this review because Dasha was a great help, and staff bonuses depend on their names being mentioned in 5* reviews.
However, I want to be clear that this is NOT a 5 star museum for 2 reasons - firstly, it is rather expensive for what it is. It's fun and my kid really enjoyed it, but it is quite small.
Secondly and most importantly, I think this system of harvesting 5 star reviews is DESPICABLE: staff bonuses depend on the mention of their name in a 5* review. This is dishonest and unfair on both staff and customer (and those who want to be honestly informed by reviews).
The visitor is informed of this system as they exit. So after a nice experience in the museum, you are then put in the position of making an uncomfortable moral choice: lie and give 5* so a genuinely nice employee gets the bonus they deserve, or tell the truth and deprive a good employee of her bonus. This SUCKS.
It is the most morally bankrupt system of skewing reviews. I will not go back to this museum (as I was going round, I was thinking it would make a great birthday outing for a party of 4-5 kids, but not now, no way) and as a local I will not be bringing my friends and their kids here, which I would have otherwise done.
The management already have very good staff - superfriendly people work in this museum. Just pay them properly and find an honest way to give them a bonus, because this is awful.
I'll be logging in on a different google account (or getting a friend) to counter-balance the 5* I am giving here with a zero...
Read moreLocated in the heart of Antwerp, the Illusion House provides a perfect location for tourists seeking amusement as well as bored locals who want to try something new.
It is especially well suited for families with small children who will be especially delighted by challenging their minds while having fun. If you don’t know where to go during a particularly rainy afternoon, this might be just the perfect solution for you.
Beyond its entertainment value, Illusion House also offers an opportunity to take many funny pictures you can post for social media. For the majority of the time, they even mark the places that guarantee the best shot possible.
However, considering the relatively small size of the establishment, the price of 15€ is steep. Especially since many illusions are familiar and lack originality.
In short, Illusion House in Antwerp offers family-friendly fun and photo opportunities, despite its high price and lack of original illusions. Consider this when deciding if...
