I noticed this place after I had already eaten one evening but I thought it looked interesting as I particularly like beef Pho. The combination of chilli heat, citrus and coriander is particularly appealing, so I went there the next day. The place was quite busy with a fairly young crowd. There were lots of different types of Pho which worries me because it must be difficult to provide a good stock appropriate for each meat. I usually go for places that just do beef, but this time I disregarded the problem. In the end I didn't notice the stock because of other issues. The noodles were supposed to be flat rice noodles but they weren't. They weren't flat and I assume they weren't rice. If I had a gluten allergy I would be most unhappy. The beef was fine but the soup lacked heat, citrus flavours and aromatics, the very things I want. There was a lime segment so a squeeze of that partly improved matters, but only 1 thin slice of chili so I had to use Sriracha sauce to hot things up a bit. No coriander was provided, only basil. Although the food prices were reasonable, the soft drinks were a bit more expensive than some of the competition. I had a Saigon beer and didn't enjoy it very much. Overall very disappointing and I...
Read moreWe went there thinking it would be a nice place since it was the only vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown. Well I should've walked away when I saw no vietnamese seated in the restaurant, that they didn't offer a pho dac biet which is a staple and that they offered pho vit instead of bun mang vit. I just wanted to tasted how my food was treated in Belgium and it surely wasn't treated well. The broth was watery and bland to the point where I don't even think they used beef bones to cook it. The noodles were mushy and way overcooked. They are suppose to be a bit firm so when it drops in the broth it is just perfect. The toppings were very minimalist composed of 2 pieces of bo tai, bo chin and bo vien. The greens were ok though If you want a good pho don't go there for €12,5 I was expecting a bigger bowl not a...
Read moreNice, uncomplicated place. Food was good. Bún rieu was very authentic Vietnamese. Think I have not ate anything close to the 'perfect, authentic' taste like this one here. Especially the fish cake and sausage is something I normally just expect to have in Vietnam. Very delicious and a recommendation if you like seafood. With the bún gà, it was nice, but the broth tasted closer to what you get with Cantonese noodle soups. Taste as a whole was clean and good. But the noodles were overcooked. Honey ribs were perfect. Summer rolls good, meat was a bit chewy. Ice tea and bubble tea have a nice taste. Service very friendly and quick. Tend to give 5 stars if the noodles were not that overcooked....
