We made reservations for a party of 4, and because of the wonderful weather, we were able to choose inside or outside, so we sat outside on the spacious terrace, overlooking the river Schelde, which is a lovely place to be enjoying sundowners. The food and drinks we ordered, aperitif, starters, mains, desserts were good but nothing in the presentation to blow you away or anything outstanding to remember that tickled the tastebuds to such an extent. It seemed to us that the staff was uninterested, no eyecontact, no connection on any level, as if end of season had taken its toll. Even a nice tip could not trigger a smile. Disappointing, especially after all the reviews we read that made us come here with people from South-Africa. You also pay for the great view basically, so we will not return but it was fun because we appreciated our own company and took responsibility for the...
Read moreStaff was very friendly, but maybe not all dressed for the type of restaurant they claim to be (understated chic). The starter (vitello tonnato with brioche) was really delicious. The accompanying bread was also very nice (they could offer a second serving). Too bad they couldn’t deliver the same quality further on. The main course (sea bass) was good but definitely nothing remarkable. The desserts however were the real disappointments. The mini dame blanche was not fresh, it was prepared (ice and decoration alike) earlier and placed in the freezer on the plate. The chocolate sauce was barely hot and came 10 minutes late. The RAS dessert was wholesale quality. I also missed some amuses with our aperitif. This should be included at this price point, in stead of some olives that were already...

The atmosphere is cozy, though the tables are quite close together, making it less ideal for a more intimate dining experience. It was also quite warm inside, and the kitchen smells were noticeable in the coat check area, which was a bit off-putting.
Service was acceptable but didn’t meet high standards. As for the food, the Filet Pur I ordered was disappointing and didn’t live up to its name. However, the dessert, a Tarte Tatin, was absolutely delicious. The wine prices seemed excessive, with a bottle of Red Sancerre priced at 50 EUR despite a retail value of 13 EUR.
Overall, I'd give 3 stars for the food and service, but 4 stars for the...
