Had the worst meal in my life at Carlitos. The only thing fresh on this menu appears to be the pizzas. The biggest clue of what awaited us was seeing plates full of pasta that looked as though they had not been touched that were being cleared away by the waiters. The first disappointed was the Calamari which was not fresh and appeared to be bought in and recooked it was elasticky and chewy. For my main I ordered the Spaghetti Alle Pollo e fungi and what a disappointment instead of getting a creamy chicken mushroom sauce I got a dry dish full of curry powder which I did not expect in a restaurant that is advertising to be an Italian restaurant... Don't get me wrong I love curry powder in a curry sauce but not in an Italian dish. I called the waiter over and asked if the dish had curry powder in and told him that I was disappointed with it. His answer to me was I should have told them not to put curry powder in it. He cleared my plate full of pasta and we still had to pay for something that was awful....
Read moreRang up two nights before to book a table but was told "we're full" and hung up on without any chance to ask about the next night. For some reason decided to persevere and came back to eat dinner. Very average. Pizzas were decent, cannaloni was acceptable, pasta special was bland. But the starters of bruschetta with garlic (garlic bread) and the insalata caprese were very disappointing. What Italian restaurant with any self respect would use dried herbs like parsley on its caprese and leave out fresh basil? Bland and flavourless. The waiter took the specific instructions about how to cook one child's pizza and completely ignored it. The place turned out to be part of a youth hostel and the toilets were... in the youth hostel, shared toilets with nowhere to wash your hands - no soap! This whole place feels like a cynical exercise, an imitation of an upscale Italian place built to fleece families. €120 for two adults and two kids felt very harsh indeed for what we...
Read moreI ordered a margherita and arrabiata pizza for takeaway. The staff was very kind and welcoming.
The pizzas weren’t that good. Very bland sauce and dough. Honestly the dough didn’t seem to be freshly made, maybe store bought? It definitely tasted like one.
They added spicy oil packets in the boxes but I’ve never seen a restaurant give that for takeaway pizza. Good pizzas don’t need that silly oil. Even Domino’s doesn’t add this to their pizzas.
I finished the Arrabiata because I was hungry. Bland but edible, slightly disappointed since the restaurant seemed very nice & tidy. Staff was nice too. Pizzas needs an upgrade.
Can’t comment on the other food.
Customers seemed like they were enjoying their night.
Unfortunately not returning...
