Saw this place on the internet and was lured in by the pictures from their menu. When I arrived I was a little nervous as there was no English menu. However staff were excellent and translated everything for me. The menu was not large but I prefer that. Quite a busy restaurant and the service was both friendly and professional. The bill was fair and I believe that it was better value for money than most restaurants in town.

An addition to our favorite list for Brugge! Very Belgian with a twist. We (my wife, daughter of 6 and I) had a terrific experience at Lokkedize last night. Suitable for young children, they serve children's portions for spaghetti bolognese and lasagne. No fries ;) No reservations, walk in only. Come early. Atmosphere is warm, relaxed, typical Bruges. A cafe style place with a bar. Service is handled by the restaurant keeper, and by him alone. Very friendly, attentive and extremely fast in service. Kitchen is Belgian combined with mediterranean dishes, lasagne, spaghetti, moussaka, mezze, kebab and shoarma pita. The menu is not very large, but will suit most. Have: shrimp balls (yum!) and the Lokkedize boules (small meatballs, Greek style with tzatziki). Salad with shrimp croquettes, big and tasty. Calamares was good, large portion for a starter. Starters portions are generous. Have: Chardonnay, very nice. Local beers, Gouden Carolus from tap (heavy dark, sweet), Lokkedize tripel from tap (their local beer, quite nice).

If you want good falafel in Brugge, go here. The food is terrific and the drinks are also great. We happened to be staying in the house next to it, so we couldn't pass up. Try the large falafel pita plate. It's enough food for two (small) people possibly. Finish up with chocolate mousse and the muscadet wine to pair!

Beware. Owner/Manager lacks basic health and safety awareness.

I have a dairy intolerance. I dined here tonight and although I was very careful to read through the menu before ordering, our selections came out with milk sauce and yoghurt additives that were not listed. Upon receiving, we questioned why all ingredients were not disclosed and asked it be sent back.

When the bill came, the owner charged us anyway for food we did not eat.

I want to especially forewarn that this is exactly the kind of place that will hide what is in their food. We raised the point that a restaurant could be liable for customer harm or death for food served in his restaurant. He dismissively shrugged us off and responded ‘maybe’....

Got in, it was quite busy, waiter told us it would take a few minutes but we could have a drink at the bar, so we stood in a corner waiting till there was space at the bar. After about fifteen minutes there was space at the bar and we sat down there, in the mean time people had come in after us and were waiting where we were waiting before. After 25 minutes we still hadn't gotten a drink and three parties that had come in after us had gotten a table. Worst service ever, as someone who works in the service industry that type of service is unnaccepable. I will never recommend this place to any of the guests in our hotel again. Nor will I ever set foot in...

Cosy little pub/brasserie tucked away in a less busy street close to 't Zand.

No reservations possible, and it can get quite busy, but the kitchen is very effective, so waiting time, if any, is fairly limited.

The food is very delicious (influenced by the Greek, Turkish cuisine mostly, kebab, mezze, yet some seasonal specials can be of a very different nature, eg. tartiflette).

Portions are generous and the food is quite healthy, eg the kebab is loaded with vegetables and the meat is actual lamb.

But don't heed my review, skip this place, this way I can...
