ONSLOW — Restaurant in Bruges

Fantastic spot away from the busy touristic “highways” in Bruges. Onslow takes reservations but leaves spots for walk-ins too, a relief for many food lovers out there having difficulties reserving spots in restaurants. We were served by a super kind woman who took care of the front and bar by herself. No reservations was no problem as she served us as if we had a long standing arrangement here. She went out of her way to make us and our infant comfortable. As we only had limited time she also made sure we got every dish in quick succession so we could make it to our rendez vous on time. She arrived at the table at correct time to inform if we’d like something more and such- it made me wish we could stay longer and properly dine here. And then I haven’t even discussed the food and wine, which were gorgeous in their own right. The charred cauliflower with tarragon and the vongole really didn’t disappoint. Will be here...

I’m not a very food motivated person. Most of the time I just eat whatever is convenient as quickly as possible. I’ve had identifiably good food (I’ve even been to other Michelin restaurants) and identifiably bad food, but I never understood people acting like a meal they had actually moved them until now. I’m from the Southeastern US and have had so much great fried chicken, but this actually beat out my grandma’s recipe (as hard as it is for me to admit) to be the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. We also got the broccolini and egg fried rice and they were similarly amazing. I don’t think this restaurant serves a bad dish. For the first time ever I actually feel inspired to get creative with my cooking at home. The only downsides are that it is pricier than your average lunch and that your next several meals will probably be a little sad...

Absolute Must-Visit in Bruges!

Just returned from a fantastic evening at Onslow in Bruges! There were 4 of us, and the sharing plates concept was absolutely perfect for our group. The food was simply delicious. I'd even go as far as to say I ate the best chicken in Bruges here – truly sublime! All the small dishes we shared were incredibly diverse and bursting with flavour. Besides the amazing food, the staff was also very friendly and attentive. The interior of the place is also really cool, which creates a great, cozy atmosphere.
