As someone who has eaten at michelin restaurants around the world and has a high bar for dining, I found this restaurant 5 stars all around and worthy of its michelin recognition. I almost didn't go because of the 2 reviews that said it was underwhelming and more about presentation than quality. So I wanted to leave a review so that others are not misguided by those reviews. The quality of food was excellent, and as a vegetarian I was very impressed with the two off menu dishes they prepared for me. My husband had the beef tartare and boar which he also thought were top notch. The server was very kind and made a great wine recommendation. Would highly recommend this place. I found this place to be a bit stuffy and disappointing. It was more show than quality. I felt for the quality the prices were extortionate. For example I had a bavette steak as a main, which was priced at over 30 Euros. It's a £3 steak and I could cook it better at home. I did not leave feeling satisfied with the food, to be honest .I know the ratings are high, but I felt a waste of money for what choices there were on the menu. I think this will appeal to a certain type of person who likes more show and a fancy setting. Was in Brugge voor twee dagen en ging op aanraden eten in de gousepitte ,was echt in the mood voor een fijne avond ,wat een DISASTER ,bij binnen komst ,werd keurig mijn jas aan genomen en een tafeltje aangewezen .Onderhand kwamen er meer mensen binnen en constadeerde ik dat de garçon er helemaal alleen was en 1 Kok in de keuken .ik vroeg voor een gin en tonic werd netjes gebracht en dat was het! Na twintig minuten,zat ik nog steeds te wachten op de garçon om mijn bestelling op te nemen,op een gegeven moment kwam de Kok uit de open keuken ,die zag dat ik totaal geen aan dacht kreeg en vroeg wat ik wou eten,het voorgerecht kwam na 20 minuten ,wederom gebracht door de Kok ,de garçon liep met rood bezweet hoofd rond te rennen,de wijn die ik had besteld werd niet gebracht , ik vroeg erom toen de garçon voorbij rende ,het voorgerecht smaakte goed ,niet echt speciaal,maar okay, Een uur en half later kwam mijn hoofdgerecht ,patrijs ik had er kastanjes bij gevraagd ,de patrijs was taai er was een schaaltje groenten?? ?. bij gebracht leek op boeren Kool, kon geen kastanjes ondekken en leek op geitenvoer ,wederom werd de wijn vergeten, ik heb een paar happen gegeten en toen om de rekening gevraagd.Toen ik opmerkte dat het mischien wel nuttig zou zijn om wat personeel er bij te nemen ,kreeg ik als antwoord: ja iedereen kwam te gelijk ,wat natuurlijk logisch is tussen 7 en negen uur als het diner tijd is. Er was wel een vriendin ,of zo , bij geroepen die de afwas deed. Het kwam allemaal erg amateuristisch over. ( of Zuinig??) Was er tenminste als excuus nog een kopje koffie van het huis aan geboden had het nog een beetje vergeven kunnen worden , er zijn voor het geld ,andere restaurants ,waar tenminste een beetje service wordt gegeven ...
