⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Full Review : One-of-a-Kind Views & Dining at the Atomium!
The Atomium is a true icon of Brussels part museum, part art installation, and part futuristic wonder! But what really blew me away was the restaurant at the top sphere, where you can dine above the city with a 360° panoramic view. Truly unforgettable! 🏙️
Getting There: Super convenient just hop on Metro Line 6 and get off at Heysel/Heizel. From there, it’s just a short walk. There’s also parking nearby if you’re driving. You can buy Atomium tickets online in advance to skip the line. 🎟️
The Restaurant (Top Sphere): This is dining with a view like no other! From your table, you can see all of Brussels and even as far as Antwerp on a clear day. Whether you go during daylight or at sunset, the view is a showstopper. 🌇
The menu has something for everyone, including vegetarian options that are more than just an afterthought. I had a beautifully presented seasonal vegetable risotto, and there was also a grilled veggie dish with local grains and a fresh salad starter packed with flavor. Portions were generous, and everything was made with care.
For those who eat meat or fish, there’s a selection of Belgian inspired dishes fresh, hearty, and refined. And the desserts? Amazing. The chocolate mousse and fruit sorbet were both hits!
Service: The staff were so welcoming friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the menu. They were happy to explain dishes and help with dietary preferences.
Extra Tips: • Make a reservation in advance especially if you want a seat by the window! • If you dine at the restaurant, your elevator ride to the top is included no need for separate Atomium entry tickets! • Allow time to explore the rest of the Atomium afterward, including the interactive exhibits, light tunnels, and history of Expo 58.
Bonus: Right next door is Mini-Europe, another fun stop if you’re making a day of it! 🇪🇺
Final Word: A fantastic experience great food, amazing views, and a truly unique setting. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, this is a must-visit...
Read moreWhen you walk up to Atomium, it is a jaw dropping structure. We were super excited to eat at the top and see the views. When we arrived, we were treated with a complementary photo which was lovely and escorted upstairs.
At the top, you are met with the observation space which can be distracting if you didn’t visit Atomium outright before arriving at the restaurant. Your instinct is to look at the views and neglect the reservation.
I would have liked to know in advance that we would have no direct view of the outside. The restaurant has 2 levels and the second does not boast the stunning 360 view the main floor has, which was unfortunate. Had I known I would have requested a space on the lower level when making a reservation.
We also had to wait an obscene amount of time for our food, about an hour and 15 for our appetizers. We saw that others on the main floor received theirs within 15-20 minutes, it might have been that we were simply out of sight. The servers periodically checked on us but no one was stationed up on the second floor permanently. Our server did as best he could and tried to expedite our food on several occasions. We were only 4 and we only had 3 apps so I’m not sure what the delay was.
The food was excellent, the app portion was very small. I think the food could have used a nice finishing salt to brighten up the flavours. The salmon skin was not crisped up on our main which was a lost opportunity.
Overall it was a pleasant experience with delicious food, but at that price point I would expect impeccable timing and service from...
Read moreGreat views for some (not me, I was put by a wall away from air con on a 34 degree day, see picture for my view) but what ruined it for me was the food - it was probably the worst I’ve ever been served in a restaurant! I’ve seen some nice pictures in other reviews but nothing like that available when we visited. I had some sort of Belgian fish stew, three very small pieces of poorly cooked fish in a salty odd coloured sauce with grated carrots. The potatoes I am sure came from a tin, otherwise they are pre-peeled and left in salt water for a very long time to dry out and go nasty. I think if you dropped one it would bounce. Our white wine was served at room temperature, I had to put ice in it. Service started off great but then we were ignored for half an hour, eventually I had to find someone to ask to pay. We didn’t want to try anything else as it was so overpriced for such low quality. The waitress refused to accept any feedback about the food and then ignored us for the rest of our visit. Little waiter man was horribly rude and accosted me on the stairs because I was understandably not happy and just wanted to leave. Tried to appease me with photos taken at the entrance that I didn’t want to have taken in the first place. I was so speechless and then he made a horrible and hurtful comment about me. The security man downstairs was lovely and helpful though so the venue gets two stars for everyone apart from...
