This coffee shop is an absolute gem! Their iced coffee is soooo good — perfectly balanced and consistently delicious. I also appreciate their thoughtful options for those of us who are lactose intolerant, with creamy alternatives like coconut milk and oat milk that pair perfectly with their coffee.
The staff here is truly incredible. They’re not only skilled at making amazing coffee but also genuinely kind and welcoming. Even during busy moments, they’ll take the time for a quick chat, making every visit feel personal. It’s clear they love what they do, and that passion shows in every cup they serve.
I’ll admit, I’ve recently gotten a new coffee machine at home, but that hasn’t stopped me from sneaking in a visit!
My only (very small) gripe is with the coffee holders—I’m a bit clumsy, and they make me nervous I might drop something. But honestly, that’s on me, not them!
To the amazing team: you seem like such a fun and energetic bunch. Thank you for always brightening my day with great coffee and even better vibes. Keep doing what...
Read moreOn Saturday afternoon, the place was (understandably) packed, but it was well worth a bit of a wait. The cardamom bun was the best I've ever tasted, absolutely delicious. The nitro cold brew was amazing, as well - I dare say the best coffee in town. :) Maybe a bit on a pricier side, but 100% worth it. Oh and friendly staff, despite being clearly super busy. Keep up the great work, Brussels needs more places like this one!
P.S. appreciate alternative "milk" options with no extra charge, as well!
Edit: Unfortunately I have to lower my rating - over the months, staff has become quite a bit less pleasant, perhaps due to the fact how very busy it always is? They also don't always seem knowledgable of what they are serving - which I'd expect in a place that can truly make a superb cup of coffee on a good day. Unfortunately even that is a bit inconsistent - and drinks with this price tag should taste great everyday - today, my 4€ iced americano tasted of...
Read moreIN SHORT. It’s what was missing in the neighborhood ;-)
LOCATION. BARKBOY is located in the beautiful area on the corner of Rue de la Loi and Rue de la croix de fer, which has recently become pedestrianized (a small square). It has a nice outdoor space and indoor tables. It is small but with its own personality it is very captivating. It immediately gives the feeling of a location with the soul of a real café.
SERVICE. Be prepared: the service is a little slow. But you forget about the wait once the coffee or bakery products from the bar arrive.
FOOD. This bar gives the neighborhood what it was misssing: a top-level coffee shop with a menu of true excellence. Without a doubt, the best in the area. But don't miss the fresh BUNs made on site! Soft, delicious. They make you close your eyes because of how good they are. Oh mama!
PRICE. Slightly higher than average but adequate for high quality.
