Visited on a weekend when the place felt pretty empty. The frittata was really unappetizing and the pistachio pastry tasted stale. We waited ages for an espresso that never came because their machine broke down - no alternative offered or any kind of compensation, so we ended up with bottled water instead. The political messaging around the place also made for an uncomfortable atmosphere. There are much better coffee spots in the area. A comment based on the rude response of the owner - Your response sadly mirrors the rudeness I experienced from your staff when I visited — when I simply asked for a coffee, I was bluntly told the machine wasn’t working, with zero courtesy. I mentioned that I found your political statement troubling — not because of its content alone, but because, to my knowledge, no similar statements were made by your establishment regarding other global injustices. As a pediatrician serving a diverse population of all backgrounds and nationalities, I strive to view complex situations with empathy and nuance. Your message felt shallow and one-sided, more concerned with gaining cheap popularity than expressing a genuine moral stance. I am sure your voice was not raised for women persecuted in Iran, for LGBTQ+ people denied basic rights under Palestinian leadership, or for victims of other regimes that systematically crush dissent. This selective outrage leads me — regretfully — to consider that your motivation may not be a consistent concern for human rights, but something more troubling. As a Jew, and the descendant of many who were murdered in your country during darker times, I can’t help but feel that this kind of targeting contributes to the same dangerous pattern of scapegoating under the guise of “justice.” I hope you’ll take a moment to reflect — and consider the broader consequences of your words and actions.

Avoid this place at all costs! We came here for a late breakfast. The place was almost empty when we arrived, but we waited really long for the food (the complete order came after 35 minutes). Our order was mistaken - we saw it being delivered to another table ) but we didn’t know that until another guest returned her plate. Then the waitress circled with the exact plate around the kitchen and she returned with it to me. She has given me the exact plate that was returned from the table next to me… when we asked if it was touched, she claimed that it hasn’t been eaten (because that’s what the other guest stated). But the food was definitely touched (there was a whole in it)… We didn’t want to cause a scene so we took it. But we still had one order that wasn’t delivered to our table. So I have to eat by myself… No compensation was offered to us. And the waitress that made the mistake didn’t apologise. When it comes to food itself it was nothing special and the bread was stale…

I love coming here whenever I’m in Brussels. They’re situated in a lovely part of town, I love the ‘kunstberg’ area around all the museums. The food is amazing too, lots of vegetarian and vegan options! I personally always come for a good chai latte to accompany my book for an afternoon. The vibes here are great, and when the sun is out it’s lovely on the terrace. My only remark is this: i came in at 11:50 one morning and had to sit around and wait before i was able to order from the lunch menu… I personally feel like it wouldn’t have been such a big inconvenience for them to take my order and maybe just put it through at the right time. Other than this, everything was ok.
