Plein Publiek BXL — Restaurant in Brussels

My experience left a bitter taste – and not because of the coffee. We stopped by for two espresso macchiatos. It wasn't on the menu, so I kindly asked for two espressos with a small amount of milk on the side. The waiter agreed, and we waited.

Ten minutes later, the two espressos arrived—but with no milk. I immediately told a different waitress that we were still waiting for the milk. She left, then returned to ask if we wanted hot or cold milk. I asked for cold.

After that, she passed by us several times, said “just a moment,” and then eventually ignored us completely, avoiding eye contact. I tried to get up to ask again, and one of the coffees spilled a little. Not one staff member offered to help. We had to ask a third waiter for something to clean up the mess, and again asked about the milk.

At that point, the waitress asked which waiter we had already spoken to. I pointed out the two who had ignored us. A minute later, we were finally brought a huge glass of milk—not at all appropriate for macchiatos. It honestly felt like mockery.

In the end, I drank a cold espresso. Not only was the service slow and inattentive, but I felt disrespected. Clearly, the staff had no idea what an espresso macchiato is.

I've been living in Belgium for years, and this is the first time I’ve had such a disappointing café experience. If the café doesn't offer milk on the side for espresso, they could have just said so—rather than making us wait nearly 30 minutes and treating us like a nuisance.

My review is about the nightclub (not the day terrace) so let's start saying:

Want to get in? Pay 10€ Want to leave your jacket at the closet? Pay 2€ Need to pee? Pay 2€ for an all-night ticket or 0,50€ every time you use it Want a drink? Wait the desk queue to recharge a card in bunches of 5€ and then wait the bar queue to order your drink Do you have some money left in your card at the end of the night because the prices are not rounded so you will NEVER be able to spend it all? Sorry, you won't get reimbursed Do you want a receipt for the payments you made in this place? Send an email and get no reply

Will you, after all those payments, get high standard services and amenities in return as it should be expected? NOT AT ALL.

You will only get disgusting toilets, sticky and dirty flooring, tables full of empty glasses that often end up falling and breaking into a thousand pieces that you will later carry on your shoes soles and no air conditioning or ventilation therefore no pure air.

I don't give it 1 star because the poor staff does its best and stays friendly even though. It could be a great club because of the location and beautiful building but it is only a seedy...

Three weeks ago I had booked a business lunch for 12 people from Germany, New York, France, Lebanon and Italy, and I was really looking forward to lunch on the terrace, especially as the weather was beautiful. On Saturday at 11:30 pm I received a message that the reservation was canceled due to a private party. I tried to call. Of course, no one answers, and that is totally unacceptable: first of all, it is not possible to cancel a reservation on a Sunday less than 12 hours before, and at that time the reason for canceling the concert relates to the values of this place, which only cares about getting money. It's like going to a hotel. The hotel decided to cancel your reservation because a larger group was present. Because of this disrespectful decision, I had to cancel an hour and a half of meetings that were the reason people traveled to Brussels to find a restaurant that would accept this number on a Sunday noon.
