A pretty cool place in Brussels with a wide variety of beers and reasonably priced food. I also really enjoyed drinking from their Chevalier glasses, a whole experience by itself. The food was decent. However, the service was extremely disappointing. Our waiter was very condescending, unwelcoming, and sassy in an unprofessional way. He was constantly irritated when I tried asked questions about the menu concerning information that wasn’t included. “It’s OBVIOUS that the tartare comes with fries and salad” even though it’s not written on the menu, how stupid of me, sorry for bothering. All in all, I really enjoyed this place except for the service. Would I return? Maybe, but not if the same waiter is serving us.

If you're a tourist looking for a typical historical Brussels pub-tavern, this is it. A beautiful, well preserved established pub offering a huge choice of Belgian speciality beers. Also worth mentioning is the lunch menu serving a local classic: 'stoemp', which is a sausage, egg and mashed potatoes for e very reasonable price (€ 12). Be aware some beers can be on the pricey side. If the choice of beers is overwhelming, I recommend Westmalle Triple (see photo) which is one of my favorite Belgian beers. (€ 4,50).

Very nice restaurant/pub. Staff was helpful and gave as good recommendation. We've been during lunch rush, and was positively impressed speed of service and food delivery. Food was good but I will call - ordinary. Duck not Soo bad, skin was crispy meat well cooked, maybe to too grave souse. Grilled calamari tasty but a bit too much in cake/breadcrumbs. Omlet was puffy but for sure was prepared on tons of fat. Any way we fill good after lunch, enjoyed service and beer. Good for or evening friends meeting.

Sure, gamble if it’s worth it.

Tourists have limited time visiting a beauitful new city like Brussels and we can’t waste energy and experiences with poor service. Like many of the other one-star reviews, the problem here is beyond the food, it’s the service and customer experience. I was refused the ability to pay €0.50 for my wife to use the bathroom with my credit card, but somehow I could pay €4 for a bottle of warm tap water.

When I questioned this, the staff’s attitude was astonishing and aggressive throwing arms in the air, walking away mid-conversation, muttering, glaring, and even tossing out bizarre hypotheticals like “Next time I’ll bring 50 people to use the bathroom in your home for free.”

The upsetting part is twofold: The blatant inconsistency — claiming I can’t pay €0.50 by card, yet happily taking card payment for overpriced warm tap water. Watching the number being hit into the credit card machine. After I paid, the insistence that €4 was a “fair” and “justified” price for what is essentially toilet water and toilet paper.

Even if I were offered a free meal here I’d rather go hungry, I get we are tourist and this is another means to make more money but this lack of human decency and follow up to gaslight is beyond me. I will never be coming back here and would never recommend this to anyone else. Read the other...

Terribly rude service!! Since the minute we sat down, it was a long wait just to get the drinks and then the African origin waiter didn't stop ignoring and addressing in such an incredible impolite manner to me. When "The Carbonnades Flamandes" (star Belgian dish) arrived, we freaked out!!! It was 2 small pieces of beef swimming in a pool of beer sauce with fries, for 14.90€!!! We complained about the scarcity of the meat (I had ordered that dish there not long ago on a different day and it was a lot more quantity), but the waiter told us that "it was like that" and that it wasn't his fault and repeated that if ordered it again that's what we'd get!!! He also implied that I was a liar about it. Never seen such a deplorable treatment in my life, to top it up with a "you need to leave the table" at the end, when we were finishing up our beers, because apparently he needed to clean OUR table and not the rest. Unacceptable!!! Choose a different...
