The sushi in every Makifornia is great. So no comment about that. I just wanted to talk about the terrible customer service my friends and I experienced a month ago. We went on a Saturday quite early so it wouldn't be crowded. There was a huge queue but we decided to wait anyway. They told us that we would be seated in 15 minutes. We had to wait 1 hour and 35 minutes...The waiter was "prioritizing" people with kids who just arrived, since all of a sudden, there were free tables for them but not for the people who have been waiting for more than an hour. While we were waiting in the line, I wanted to go to the toilet so I went upstairs. Then the man behind the counter started screaming at me in French "you have to wait! Don't you see all these people waiting?". I literally told him that I've been standing in this line for 1 hour and he has seen us multiple times already and that I just wanted to go to the toilet! When we FINALLY sat down, it took them another 25 minutes to come and take our order. Then we had to wait 30 more minutes for the food. Finally I had to order a thing directly at the cashier after I spent 10 minutes struggling with the QR code and failed to order with this QR Code. Meanwhile, the personnel came to take an order DIRECTLY to a Belgian who spoke French, which I didn’t understand. I had to think the reason why they did this to me. Unfortunately I had to come to the conclusion that I was someone who didn’t speak French, so they didn’t want to communicate as much as possible, or that I was an Asian tourist, whom they didn’t want in the restaurant. If it were the latter case, I have to argue that it was a restaurant which served Asian food such as Sushi. If they hate an Asian, and do not respect the people from other cultures, I ask myself, why they are serving Asian food. When I went there, no one explained where to stand or how to order (it was all in French), but someone told us what to do after a few minutes. The menu was not fully in English; there were three words in English, and the rest was in French, even though I chose the English menu.
