The Unusual — Restaurant in Brussels

I'm very disappointed with the coffee and matcha I got here.

First, they ask you to post a google review to earn freebies. Based on my own experiences here, that's the only reason they get this high rating. (I check out different coffee shops everyday on my 20 day Europe trip. And I've never had such bad taste drink.)

The match is sweetened. After one sip, I went to ask about it. They told me because the power they use was premixed with sweetener, so they have no way to make it unsweetened. That's a big issue for me, because I don't take any added sugar. And apart from being sweet, the taste of matcha is so weak, I've never had a matcha latte you almost couldn't tell it's match. And they didn't even point out that when ordering. I know to use this kind of powder is cheaper and can save the store money, but their drink is not cheaper than other places. A matcha latte is still 5.5 euro.

I also got a regular latte, the coffee taste not good at all.

To be fair, the place has a fun vibe. There is a photo booth I was thinking taking pictures (if I were not so disappointed by the coffee and match. 3 euro) But it's clearly not a cafe vibe.

Nice, spacious coffee shop in a convenient location just steps away from busier shopping streets and tourist attractions. I want to highlight the service - the waitress passed around to collect empty glasses, was able to answer our questions on the difference between 2 drinks, and was friendly and nice overall. Another highlight was the bathroom - it was spotless clean, nicely designed, with plenty of sanitary products - it is very rare to see such a nice bathroom in the center of Brussels. The coffee was good, and there’s a large choice of other drinks available. It’s a pity that there’s no food available yet, but as I understood it is coming soon.
