La Bon'Heure — Restaurant in Charleroi

We were here on a Tuesday night. Many options around town were closed and we were initially hesitant to go here - it looked a bit fancy from the outside and you need to go inside to see the menu on the blackboard. However, we were so very happy with this restaurant. We had our 7 year old with us, who is a bit of a picky eater (which is why we were a bit hesitant about it being fancy - that often translates to food he won’t eat). There weren’t kids meals on the menu, but the waiter assured us they would be able to whip something up for him. He ended up with the most incredible creamy pasta with pancetta which he ate until he was full. We had the gnocchi and the steak which were both outstanding. Washed down with a half litre of house red which was very nice. Our only regret is that we couldn’t fit desert in. The menu was in French, but the very friendly waiter talked us through it in perfect English. It was a lovely...

What a lovely, welcoming restaurant, we came across,this evening! Very pleasant host, multi lingual which is a bonus, as we are visitors from Scotland, and I'm "brushing up", on my French! Thanks for your patience! He explained the menu thoroughly- for anything we didn't understand, everything is made to order,so no delay, very quick,efficient service,beautifully presented dishes. The chef will.adapt the dish for you also- if u want ti take something out and add something instead,eg!. The food was absolutely magnifique! Merci beaucoup! Nice interior thank you...

Une première hier et ce n’était que du positif.

Ma compagne avait réservé une table pour deux personnes hier pour son anniversaire. Au téléphone, la personne l’informe qu’il reste une table de deux et s’excuse à l’avance car il y a deux grosses tables ce soir-là et le service risque d’être un peu lent. C’est déjà un premier point positif car peu le renseignerait. Elle décide de tenter le coup, on est vendredi, on a le temps.

Accueil très sympathique du début à la fin, nous n’avons nullement ressenti l’attente, le timing était impeccable durant tout le repas et la personne de salle prenait le temps avec chaque client.

Point de vue plat : quelques entrées et quelques plats sur un tableau, rien à la carte, on est dans du bon ! L’antipasto était sans doute le meilleur antipasto que j’ai pu manger jusqu’ici (sauf chez ma nonna désolé mais ça c’était obligatoire ;-) ). La cuisson de ma tagliata était parfaite. J’ai apprécié la simplicité du plat qui m’a permis de déguster au mieux ma viande. Je ne suis pas fan des tagliata avec une multitude d’ingrédients qui cache le goût d’un peu tout. Ici, simple, efficace, délicieux. Obligé de prendre un désert dans cette lignée sans faute, même constat !
