A quality Afghan restaurant in Gent where I would definitely go again. If you go with your car, you might get some difficulties finding a parking lot. The enterance of the restaurant might not be convenient for those with wheelchair ♿️. It is a tiny, well organised place with kind and friendly staff. The owner took time and explained us the concept. We ordered our drinks which were yummy, as well as our main course which was a big plate of 2 grilles and 4 other choice, plus salade. The dishes were yummy, the Chapli Kabab tasted as it tastes back in Afghanistan. Shami Kebab was a success too. The chicken melted in our mouth. I mean we enjoyed every single plate we had on our table. When it came to the dessert, I could not belive I wss tasting Afghan ShirYakh here in Gent! It was so yummy. Our experience from this restaurant is beyond great. It is one of the restaurants I would recOmmend everyone to go and taste. I would also want to thank the whole staff once again for the remarkable evening. It's a pity I cannot give them 10 stars,...

“I’m honestly really disappointed with my experience at Rumi tonight. I arrived around 9 PM and was clearly waiting outside for quite a while. The staff saw me, but no one approached or offered a menu. Eventually, I went inside to get the menu myself and then sat down, hoping to order.

As someone who’s new in Belgium and who knows this place is run by fellow Afghans, I was really looking forward to a welcoming experience. Instead, it was the opposite. It honestly kind of broke my heart. So unfortunately, I have to give just one star. It’s not about throwing shade; it’s just sharing how disappointed I am with how I was treated.”
I left smiling, I...

It looked like a lot of food, but we finished everything. Which can say something about how delicious it was, but also means it's not as much as it looks like (we certainly weren't hungry after finishing it though!).
The location is just as nicely decorated as the dishes: much attention to detail and a cosy environment.
The price is a bit on the high side though, and I have a suspicion that ordering dishes separately would be a better value than to take a rice table. But then again, it was a pleasure to taste so many different little things.
Altogether, this restaurant receives an...
