Chambelland — Restaurant in Ixelles - Elsene

I went to rescue a box with TooGoodToGo, app which I appreciate and estimate for their goal of saving food. When I arrived to the store I kindly asked (in english) to get a salty box - already prepared and present on another shelf - rather than a sweet one for specific reasons, but I was totally ignored. This would be totally fine and I would have been more than happy with my sweet box (given the nature of the app) if the same had not happened literally 1 second before with another customer, always with TooGoodToGo. The other customer made exactly the same request as me, but (be careful!) in french...and of course in this case it was accepted!!!

When I tried to explain my reasons and made the comparison with the other customer, the shop assistant became super rude in my regards. Imagine how I felt noticing this change of treatment, especially when they had already several salty boxes to be thrown away (since as far as I am concerned, during the 30 min I spent in the store to file a formal complaint, nobody came to pick them up).

Certainly, I will never go again to a place where they behave like this. I will also make sure that all the people I know will hear about this sad story.

I had an incredibly negative experience with someone from the staff (the manager) who intervened in the conversation I was having with the shop assistant and was incredibly aggressive with me. Never in my whole life I was treated in such an aggressive way. And by a complete stranger. It was unpleasant to say the least and I will never ever ever set foot in that store again. He was shouting in front of the whole store telling how he was unhappy about previous clients. Clearly, what other clients do is none of my responsibility, but he did not care. An applause to Chambelland for this appalling “customer service-oriented” experience. I stepped aside for a moment and the customer behind me was equally shocked. All civil exchanges can take place calmly, but this staff member decided to shout in front of everyone. Thanks to Chambelland for Shouting at me, threatening me and trying to scare me. Unbelievable. Definitely NOT...

I tried several things that tasted okay but I ate the pain sucre and it had the most HORRIBLE chemical taste, like it had been soaked in some kind of pure essential oil or some sort of terrible scented cleaning product. It was inedible and I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. I'm pretty sure they sprayed their sugar bread with a cleaning product accidentally while cleaning the bar or window? There's not really any other explanation I can think of for such a purely awful taste, especially because it was much much stronger on one end. It was really expensive and I'm so sad that I had to immediately throw it away after just one bite...even after drinking a coffee, the taste still...
