The host was nice to offer us to choose a seating area (as you will see later, the service is the strongest side of this restaurant, so thanks to the team for that!) There were 3 options: terrace (too cold - lovely Brussels weather), ground floor (SUPER tight, noisy, door is always open = cold), cellar. We opted for the cellar: the stairs were not comfortable, you really have to make an effort to go down. You pass the restaurants pantry, tech.room, dish washing station on the way, it stinks and is barely covered by a little curtain. You just want to arrive to the dining area asap and forget the itinerary like a scary dream. Once a curtain (again) opens, you are shocked: the ceiling here must be around 2m ! The design is nice, but after a while all you see is a ceiling hanging just above you… I saw NO ventilation in this room with no windows and close to sanitary rooms, so I let you imagine the air. This room certainly wasn’t meant to be hosting! Ok, maybe a good Meze could distract you.. but, unfortunately, it wasn’t the case. The dips (tzatziki, tirokefteri, tarama) were overly spicy and texture felt industrial. The meat (skewer) was overly cooked and not marinated enough. The meatball was bland, we had to put spices on everything. The salad was tiny, the rest kind of ok. In a summary: overall an OK experience, thanks to nice waiters, but I would definitely not return to the...
Read moreDespite its high rating, this restaurant was a major disappointment. The red flags began with an awkward booking process involving repeated calls to confirm it was an all-adult party. While the space is charmingly decorated, being led to the basement seating area through a working kitchen felt weird to say the least.
Things only worsened from there. We were served water in a basic plastic bottle—charged at an unreasonable €8 -I can accept higher price where it matches the experience. Starters were underwhelming and lacked flavour; the highlight was a €17 dish of feta smothered in honey, which set a concerning tone for the rest of the evening. Mains were not just disappointing but unacceptable. Although the meat was decent, it came with reheated orzo that was so evidently not freshly made and, shockingly, frozen vegetables served as a side with the main dish that were still cold and tasted metallic even. At €30 per dish, this is simply inexcusable.
When we expressed our concerns to the waitress, her only response was a dismissive sigh as it was a common occurrence . Overall, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in Brussels, and I left feeling thoroughly let down and...
Read moreTerrible experience. Booked a table via The Fork and got a confirmation. 1h later the booking was cancelled without letting me know. They did not try to call me to alert. I showed up to ask them what happened and if they could find a solution. The waitress told me that it was not her fault cause she was not the one loading the availability online. No excuses, not an alternative solution, nothing....we are neighbors and were planning to try it for some time now. Never again.
(Edited after answer) This customer service is amazing. Not only the restaurant does not offer any excuse but pushes the critics back to the customer. You manage your onw availability at The Fork. You put your restaurant there to have another channel of sales but then forget to update. It's not my fault that you do not managed your inventory properly. Secondly, I did leave a phone number with the reservation. I only write reviews about bad experiences, and yes it included a pharmacy. Evaluating the amount of empty tables you have every night at your restaurant good luck to you. Maybe your attitude explains why you are always empty. Hopefully we will have a nice restaurant there soon. Great location just...
