Le Portugal — Restaurant in Ixelles - Elsene

Calling this authentic Portuguese is hurtful to Portuguese restaurants that are actually good.

The atmosphere is great but the meat dishes are so bad and expensive. €26 for below average meat accompanied by frozen chips and a couple of lettuce leaves. My advice: cross the street, and pay half price at the kebab place.

The fish dishes are actually not bad, and neither is the chocolate mousse.

But the place charges like the quality is...

By far the best Portuguese food in Brussels, which is why so many Portuguese people come here. Their Leitão and Secreto are both really good, and they have a proper beer selection, luckily not just super bock and sagres. This is one of the few places in Brussels we will definitely return to. What's even better is after eating here you can pop over the road for the Pasteis de Nata...

The food was very good and the ambience, although noisy and too hot, was nice and familiar. But if you make customers wait for an hour and a half (I understand some delay can happen) with only bread, you can't, on top of that, be rude to them and get into stupid discussions. Customer attention (or just dealing with people) is definitely something this waiter...
