't Fonduehuisje — Restaurant in Leuven

Party of 4. Went in at 17h45 and order was taken swiftly. The table was sticky( wine glasses stuck to the table) and when I made a remark the glasses were taken away but no attempt to clear the ta le was made. By 18h30 no food had arrived and tables that came in later were already being served. At 18h40 someone really noticed and came to tell us that they had bodged our order and that they now remembered and food would come soon. No real apology or some token of excuse... When the food came it was fine BUT as it is an all you can eat formula we ordered some more meat, salad and fries, which prompt DIDN'T come... after 15 minutes we reminded the missing food and another 10 later they arrived with BOTH "orders"... When done I made a remark to the guy at the till about the not so stellar service and he was sympathetic but not apologetic. No gesture on the bill, no drink to say sorry, just discarded as business as usual. Very busy place with nice food but where the customer is clearly the cash cow and not the...

Dissapointed

Had to be relocated because of a larger group - no problem at all.

Same group plus other 2 which came after us were served first, drinks and food, first round, as well as the second already while we were ignored and 2 times forgotten.

Waiting time for drinks: 1hour, waiting time for a ridiculous food:2hours.

Food was dissapointing.

Price system is robbery.

We were 5 persons, each ordered its own dish (raclette and fondue), I would expect to receive 5 dishes, instead we received only 3 which had to be shared and in case you want more then you order/ask more, which by this time you already figured it out that the waiting time is enormous - perhaps because we were the only foreigners among the locals...is this Leuven?

We had a very nice dinner in ‘T Fonduehuisje. Staff was very friendly. We reserved a table like one week upfront and we were seated outside on the covered and heated terrace. We arrived at 18:30 being like the second or third table but one hour later the place was completely full. There is a nice atmosphere. Obviously when the place was full the waiting time to get served (drinks, deserts) was longer, nevertheless staff apologised for us waiting. I would say that it is a very nice place to share some nice food with family and friends. We took only the cheese fondue but next time we will have one us taking the cheese and the other one meat or fish so you have a bit more diversity on the table. Food portions are more than enough.
