Palmyra — Restaurant in Leuven

Yesterday, my friend and I went to the Palmyra. The decoration was pleasant and it had the vibe of Ancient Egypt. We ordered humus and kebab. But I got five small meat balls instead of kebab. However the taste of it was awesome. Humus was tasty too, but I think it needed more black paper. Maybe it would be a good idea to put a pepper and salt shaker set on each table because some people want to add more salt and pepper.

The manager was the garcon too ! To be honest with you I didn't like his behavior because he told us you cannot order less than two and more than three meals for each person.

We are on a diet. So, we didn't want to eat more than one meal ! Moreover, I think limiting the customer to order an specific number of meals isn't respectful and kind of annoying.

Also, when I told him I want to order one meal, Immediately after that he asked where are you from? and when I replied he said aha. Maybe it was without any purpose, but I felt strongly that he was looking down on me because of ordering one meal !!

Also my friend felt the same! So, I strongly recommend him to work on his body language and reconsider his policy and...

I’m a Lebanese food enthusiast and I try the lebanese food in every city I go to. This has been the worst lebanese food I’ve ever tried. First off, the Hummus was horrible. I love hummus and after having one spoonful, I stopped eating due to very strange and unpleasant taste. The lamb chops… I rather not say anything about it, it was disgusting. Please don’t trust the nice reviews: they offer a discounted dessert for every nice review. Just stay away from this place, save your money, and find another place for nice lebanese food in the city. I swear, any food is better than this restaurant’s food. The staff were nice but just super slow.

My response to the restaurant calling me a scam: i was there with my husband the previous week when I was attending a conference at the university. My opinion is not rude at all and is incredibly honest. Instead of harassing your customers, please work to improve the taste of your food. I really like this place. The food is always very tasty and enjoyable. We usually go for the shared platter for 2 people €42. Today we wanted to try the golden platter for 2 people to compare €62. We were surprised of how DELICIOUS the lamb chops were! So so sooooo tasty! The Tabuli was very tasty although it had a little pomegranate molasses which is unusual for this salad but surprisingly fitting in my opinion. Again, the platter was very delicious and the only thing that could maybe get changed/canceled is the beetroot moutanal. I think it was weird for us since we are very much used to authentic/familiar Syrian flavors. We also ordered the warak arish because you are not having the full experience if you ate not ordering this dish. Palmyra’s warak arish was very tasty. We also always end up asking for extra bread and they have gladly provided us with a new bread basket every single time reflecting Arabian hospitality.
