De Rector — Restaurant in Leuven

We really didn’t have a pleasant experience here. We felt looked down on by a boy server. We’re a group of teens so maybe that’s why, but that doesn’t justify it at all. The server took a long time to get to us, which is okay since it was busy. Still weird that only one staff member was in charge when it was so busy. He forgot half of our order. We tried to get his attention but he ignored us. He had an attitude towards us the whole time we were there. When we asked for the bathroom he even told us wrong directions??

The location itself is alright and because we were with friends it was a vibe.

The prices though??? I payed 10€ for a virgin mojito…. while the alcohol one was 2€ more expensive. Which I find ridiculous. I shook it off saying it might taste good, but when it arrived 3/4 of it was ice. And the 1/4 didn’t even taste nice.

The waiter, verytheEWith my friend we ordered 2 equal dishes, with french fries and pepper sauce, after 25 min of waiting, only one dish arrived, I ask the waiter and tell him that we ordered 2 equal dishes ... He tells me that only one was scored, so after 15 min of waiting for my plate, he called the waiter to cancel the order... The waiter tells me it was a mistake of theirs, so I tell him that here there are always these kinds of mistakes and he replies, your never making mistakes. And I answer that in no work I try to never have mistakes, he ironically applauds me in my face, then I ask him how long ago you work here, ne says that 15 years ago, and I answer him and with 15 years of experience you still make these mistakes, and I applaud him back.... Customer service...

A nice, cozy place in a very crowded area. Because it was a Wednesday and my colleague and I were on a work trip we asked if they served mocktails to which we got the response that all cocktails could be made without alcohol. Having experience with cocktails-turned-to-mocktails we instead looked on the menu for actual alcohol-free-cocktails and eventually settled on the Virgin Lazy Red Cheecks, which was not only very pretty but also very tasty. Also, the benches with the cushions were very nice to sit on and very pretty looking.

The staff was very friendly, only didn't seem to communicate with each other that much as three seperate people arrived at our table to take our order. Which of course is not a problem at all, it was just...
