Where: Moeder Lambic Original - Brussels What: A less touristy pub How was it: This place was recommended to us by one of the hotel staff. She said it was a little outside downtown and not so touristy. We enjoy discovering places where the locals hangout. We were on the other side of the city centre so we needed to take the metro and walk quite a bit (from the Halle gate). Once we arrived we noticed the bar was full but they quickly made some room and the people at one table reluctantly shared some space. Needless to say it felt awkward and uncomfortable but at least they made the effort. It wasn't a warm welcomes besides that. One of the servers came over to ask what we wanted, and since we didn't know any of the beers because they are specialty beers we referenced stuff we knew like Leffe. That seemed to offend the server and he replied ''oh no, we don't serve that commercialized beer here'' pretentiously. So he recommended a beer for my wife and I. In the meantime a table opened up and we were making our way to it when new people came in the door and quickly grabbed it. We were shocked since we thought it should be for us and we were getting strange looks. So instead of ordering another beer we just left. It seems to have good ratings, to each his own. We didn't care for the experience especially pretentious behaviour as it is unappealing. Grade: Eli = 2, Serge = 3 Recommend: We wouldn't recommend and...

Music was nice and didn't drown out our conversations as a group, the staff were enthusiastic, and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about beer, of which there was a fantastic selection (both local and foreign, of every type). The house beer, a signature kriek in the Belgian tradition of lambic fermented with cherries, was delicious and well balanced. I heartily recommend popping by if you're looking for a cosy spot to hang out with friends, or if you're looking to savour some...
Read morewe did not have a reservation, called the restaurant few times 2h before we arrived there. they said the only way to make a reservation is via social media (a tourist won’t possibly know that) they were kind enough to tell us that we can wait for 30 min, then we will get set. More than an hour passed and we were still waiting - after my friend the review, probably the gentleman who is the owner came to our table and started shouting at us (for the whole restaurant to hear) to why we gave a bad review… WORSE SERVICE I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN A LONG TIME - waited for hours to have the food served. just don’t...
