I had a blast! My husband and I tried the 4 tacos on the menu as well as the totopos with guacamole and 2 off menu items: the tacos carne asada and the tostadas of shrimp ceviche. Everything was fantastic and really flavourful. In my opinion, the carne asada taco should be on the menu permanently as it was delicious, perfectly seasoned and the meat so tender. My second favourite was the chicken one. The al pastor taco was really good as well but I think it could have a bit more seasoning. The fish taco was also really nice, specialky with the pickled onion. The corn tortilla is impeccable and it holds the taco as it should be. I recommend aguachiles because it was so flavourful and delicious. For me guacamole was a bit tasteless but it could be just my personal preference so I did not take it as a minus. Tacos were great! Simple, seemed pretty authentic and flavourful! We also had cocktails and they were good, not too strong.
It is a place I would go back to as the overall atmosphere was great! The only minus for me were the prices as it is on a pricey side. There is quite a difference in menu prices posted some months ago (mainly 1 euro more for most of the things) and the ones we saw yesterday. Read moreAs a Mexican-American expat, I will recommend Piña as THE authentic Mexican taqueria in Brussels. The place smells like home, tastes like home, and feels like home. The salsa’s have flavor, the meat is grilled well, and the tacos are no-nonsense. Service was attentive and kind.
I see some reviews saying the meat that lacked that special flavor but I feel people forget that tacos require salsa. The red, green, and habanero salsas all have their place and their specials outside the tacos (chilaquiles, etc.) show the chef’s flair/takes.
