I visited this restaurant with 8 friends on Friday to celebrate the birthday of one of my closest friends. It wasn’t our first time here—back in April 2023, we also came for a birthday celebration and had a good experience, good food, service, and a nice atmosphere. So, we thought we’d return.
Unfortunately, this time was quite disappointing. The food was still decent (the menu changes each week), but the service really let us down. We knew the dishes are small, and we were hoping to order a little more to share (we ordered all the menu apart from 1 dish), but when we asked the waiter if it was possible to do so, she responded very rudely. Some of the dishes, were missing items (from the dish of the mussels some of them were empty). We ended up ordering a lot of bread just to fill our stomachs. I must say the wine was good.
When it came time for dessert, we were told we could only order the chocolate mousse because we were "too late." We made the reservation for 8:30 PM, and the kitchen supposedly closes at 9:30 PM, so I didn’t understand why they take a reservation at that time if the kitchen closes one hour later.
I also kindly asked if they could play a happy birthday song or bring a candle with the dessert for my friend, and the waiter's response was a flat "no," accompanied by an eye roll and dismissive gestures. This was just one of many rude moments from her throughout the evening—it's hard to summarise it all.
To top it off, the location isn’t ideal. There’s nothing around besides kebab places, and after spending €173.50 for a lackluster meal, we ended up grabbing fries elsewhere.
I’d say, judge for yourselves, but based on this experience, I definitely wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. None of the ones we where there and our friends of friends will come back. There are better places with better service...
Read moreEDIT: a lot of one review accounts left 5 stars after my comment. BE CAREFUL!
It really is a pity to leave a one star review, and I rarely do it, but I have to admit that in 5 year in Brussels I have never felt so un-welcome. We were a group of 8 girls celebrating a friend’s bday and for the occasion we were thrilled to try this place. We had a reservation at 20.30 and by the time everybody arrived and we translated the menu, by 21 we decided to order the whole menu and a bottle of wine. Before we had received a quarter of what we ordered, around half an hour later we were prompted by one waitress that the kitchen was closing and if we wanted anything more we had to order asap. Given that we had no idea what we were about to be served and in what quantities, we discussed among us and decided to add one dish and the only dessert on the menu for our friend. This is when everything went horribly. We were treated very badly by the other waitress who very rudely scolded us, telling that we were warned about the kitchen closing and that was it, no more food. After that, the environment became quite hostile. We kept ordering wine and bread (only thing available) and we never knew if we were gonna get yelled at or our request would be fulfilled.
It really is a pity for the chef because the food was amazing! But everything plays a role in one’s experience.
I would suggest management to not accept reservations for dinner so late if you don’t give people time to...
Read moreI don’t write reviews but I can’t not react to what happened this evening, the last time I will go to Achille. I really like this place, the food is really excellent and whilst not to everyone’s taste I like the concept of no wine menu. I come here fairly regularly and recommend it to friends and visitors but sadly no more. I just popped in on a Wednesday evening at around 20:30 - politely asked before sitting down and got aggressively shouted at by the staff « no no no we serve no one else no no » as they left us standing there feeling like we’d done something wrong. Brussels isn’t known for its service culture but this wasn’t even bad service it was just mean and rude and left me feeling really unpleasant. There’s nothing else in the area and there will always be lots of customers to come here but still that’s not an excuse to treat people...
