Le début — Restaurant in Tongeren

We ordered carpaccio, they put the salt, bottle of oil etc. on the table so you had to put it together yourself. The salt was in a small jar and didn't come with a spoon so I guarantee you tons of people have put their dirty fingers in there. There were remnants of other people's food in the jar.

For the main course both me and my companion got the spare ribs. We both got sick later that night, I do not recommend getting it. (They were very dry also.)

The music was way too loud and I could barely hear the people near me talking. If you dine here, make sure not to sit near the speakers. Not that we had a choice since there was already a table assigned to us.

The dessert we were so excited to finally try (tarte tatin) was unavailable so I can't give it a review.

Worst of all was the hygiene. The floors were very dirty and I kid you not, someone with a dog walked into the restaurant and went into the kitchen upstairs (yes, with the dog)! Just why? Imagine a health inspector...

Sadly disappointed... The waitress didn't ask how the steak should be prepared. We thought she'd forgotten and would come back to ask it, but she never did. The cook didn't bother to know either and chose wrong. As a recovering alcoholic, I was shocked to taste the mushroom cream sauce contained alcohol (this wasn't written on the menu). The floor was not clean. Staff was smoking outside often and the smoke entered the restaurant, spoiling our appetite. The starter and dessert were...

"Le Début":

Ik had een geweldige ervaring bij restaurant "Le Début"! Het was leuk en aangenaam, en ik merkte op dat de keuken een positieve evolutie heeft doorgemaakt. Ik was zeker onder de indruk en zal zeker terugkomen.

Het restaurant heeft een interessante geschiedenis, omdat het vroeger een antiekwinkel was die is omgevormd tot een prachtig modern restaurant. Het interieur is smaakvol en uitnodigend. De mensen die er werken zijn ook erg aangenaam en vriendelijk, wat bijdraagt aan de algehele positieve sfeer van de plaats.

Wat betreft het eten, ik vond het echt lekker. De menukaart bood een goede variëteit aan gerechten en ik genoot van de smaken en presentatie van mijn maaltijd. Het is duidelijk dat er veel aandacht wordt besteed aan de kwaliteit en de bereiding van het eten.

Al met al zou ik "Le Début" ten zeerste aanbevelen aan iedereen die op zoek is naar een heerlijke culinaire ervaring. De combinatie van de positieve evolutie van de keuken, het prachtige moderne interieur en de vriendelijke mensen maakt dit restaurant zeker een...
