Pizzeria 77 — Restaurant in Waterloo

When one of my friends told he would open a new pizzeria in Waterloo area l was a bit sceptical first , he opened during the first lockdown in Belgium so as I live in Brussels and I don't have a car , l wasn't even able to try it . Now when he proposed to come and pick me up to try the pizzas they were making , I was more than happy to oblige. The place is very nice on 2 floors , with a lovely space outside in the back and l guess people , once we go back to normality , will enjoy so much to eat outside in the garden , his lovely and well made Neapolitan pizzas.l am from Naples and for us pizzas are serious business if you know what I mean. I must admit I was very impressed with the pizza l eat in pizza 77 . The dought is delicious and very digeribile, the products used to make the pizzas are excellent, generally speaking I find difficult to finish a whole pizza at lunch time , but in this case l was able to finish it without hesitation . A pizzeria proposing typical Neapolitan pizzas are a new trend in Belgium , you have a lot of choices in Brussels if you fancy one , but in the Waterloo area there was no one proposing this kind of product. I am 100% sure this new pizzeria will be very successful in the future, because they sell a product...

We visited the establishment on a Sunday afternoon, just when they had opened for dinner. We ordered a salad and an appetizer, plus 2 pizzas. The appetizer and the salad came straight away and they were nicely served and tasteful. Nevertheless, we had to wait for one (1) hour to have our pizzas served, watching at least 7 take-aways being delivered prior to our order. Finally, after our complaint our pizzas were ready in 10 minutes, we got them for take-away, since we had lost patience waiting and we also have a small child, so it was getting late for her. Their reply is that they were under the impression that we were still eating the appetizer (we had left 1 piece untouched for more than 45'), but they actually never asked... This was a ridiculous argument from non-friendly staff.

To be fair though, I have to clarify that the food is nice, nothing exceptional but certainly...

The server/hostess was very friendly, and helpful the atmosphere was just ok not much light on the patio.But the biggest problem was the pizzas I have tried pizza all over the world, lived in Naples for 2 years as well as lived in NYC so I know pizza.This pizza was just not good the sauce no salt or flavor the crust no flavor and the cheese just covered the whole pie in a strange way, on my wifes pizza the sausage was hard and had zero flavor and was a weird purple color.So just not good pizza and I will say probably on my top 3 worst Neapolitan style pizza I have ever tried since I first...
