Frustration quand tu...

Mixed feelings about this place. Plush interior, superb food with innovative cocktails and surprising, ultra-tasty takes on some well-known dishes. I had reserved a place weeks in advance for a special occasion only to be directed to a table which was practically joined to the other tables either side, leaving absolutely no privacy or intimacy. I have never been sat so close to fellow diners and let’s be honest, when you’re spending over €200 for your dinner you would think the restaurant in question would grant a little comfort by allowing a minimum space between you and the diners on either side! Shocking ! Dessert for 2 in the form of a Dame Blanche -utterly delicious but very sadly let down by providing only 5 hazelnuts for 2 people !! Is this a joke ?! 2,5 hazelnuts each !! We requested more which were added to our bill. Evidently there’s a conflict here. A restaurant setting out to give a luxurious, dining experience and then treating clients in a rather...

We arrived at Poncho around 8:45 PM on a Friday 9/19. The restaurant was not particularly busy -plenty of tables were available both inside and out. We asked if we could sit down for coffee and dessert, but the male host immediately and firmly refused, saying, “We’re a full-service restaurant. You can’t just have coffee and dessert here.”

This response was surprising and disappointing, especially for a neighborhood spot we’ve visited often. The assumption that our business wasn’t worth accommodating felt shortsighted. For all they knew, we might have stayed longer and ordered wine or cocktails -"maybe even a substantial bill. Instead, we were turned away at the door without any willingness to welcome us.

We went next door to Poncho’s sister restaurant, where the staff greeted us warmly, happily served us coffee and dessert, and earned our business that night.

A little hospitality goes a long way. Unfortunately, Poncho missed an opportunity to treat loyal locals...

Great food presentation, ingredients are fresh and good quality. Taste is very good not yet exceptional. I loved the guacamole presentation and smash it yourself experience. On my case the stone was too cold and made every bite sensitive for the gums. The taste is good and the totopos are of good quality (a bit tinner they will be perfect, for me) The portobello tacos are tasteful, the sauce stills the show somehow as protagonist and diminishes the rest of the dish on the end. The tataki was very good and highlyrecommended, a bid short on quantity. Maybe it leaves you wanting more. The service was very friendly, fast and professional. The atmosphere is vibrant and creates a good vibe to talk and be present. A good place. Recommended.

Beautiful restaurant, very attentive, friendly, patient staff, beautiful lady on the door, she was a delight. We were sat at a rather small table at first which was very close to the neighbouring tables (a little too close!!) we asked to be moved and got a better table, cocktails were delicious, very good wine and the food was fabulous. Only marked service as a 4 as we asked for some more hazelnuts to go with the rest of the ice cream as u only got about 4 and we were charged 1.50 euros which is crazy as we spent over 225 euros, it is quite tight of a restaurant of any kind to do this!! Pricey restaurant but excellent food if you’re looking for something special.

On the 1st of August, I came with ten people to discover this beautiful restaurant and eat dinner. Waiters are friendly and overall the food tasted good. However, 7 people (out of our group of 11) got relatively sick, myself included. I think it might be from the meat since the 4 others that didn't get sick actually ate the fish. The octopus ceviche is not bad at all but I really prefer the traditional Peruvian ceviche. Not sweet and with chulpis. Also, I would consider serving chulpis at the table, it would be a nice replacement to bread. Hope this helps, Take care.
