Celebrity Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Belize City

I had a very pleasant dinner at this restaurant during my visit to Belize City last month. I ordered lobster tail. I thought the price was reasonable. I was served two lobster tails: one large and one larger. They were prepared extraordinarily well. It was a midweek evening and I arrived relatively early. The restaurant had a brisk business going on. All of the other diners appeared to be local people and all appear to be having a very good time and enjoying a very good meal. The staff were pleasant knowledgeable and helpful. They may not be very much accustomed to serving tourists because at the end of my meal when I asked for a taxi to be called for me it took them quite a bit of doing to find a number for local taxi driver. I will be returning to Belize City 2 months from now and certainly will be going to the celebrity restaurant for dinner once again. This time I will ask the taxi driver who takes me there for my hotel for his telephone number so that I can phone him to pick me up at the end...

We had the absolute best experience at this restaurant when in this area. We attempted to have lunch on our first day, but we were in a rush and the server told us the carbonara would take a while so probably not possible to have a “quick lunch.” As Americans on our first day in Celebrity Restaurant & Bar, used to fast food/service, instead of having something else, we just said ok and made a reservation to come back for dinner instead. Boy, are we glad we came back to have the FULL experience of carbonara here. The service here was so special. Just a few tables and the owner came to visit to tell us all about the origin of the ingredients on our plate. Not only the owner, but a handful of servers took care of us as a team and they were all knowledgeable and so sincere. As a first-time patron of Celebrities Restaurant visiting from out of the country, I was very disappointed with my experience while celebrating my birthday there. Upon arrival, my guest and I were seated rather hastily, without much attention or warmth. It took quite some time for our server to return and check on us, which set the tone for the evening.

When our meals finally arrived, both dishes were mostly cold—approximately 75% of the food was not served at the proper temperature. We had to send our meals back three times to have them reheated. Unfortunately, when I brought my concerns to the attention of the owner, his response came across as indifferent and lacking in care for our experience.
