This place is just amazing! We stayed at a hotel upstairs and ended up eating here every day. They had their opening night at the same day we arrived and that was clearly noticeable from the lack of experience but they compensated it with extreme friendless and superb vegan food. Everything we had here was so beyond our expectations that I didn't even want to look for other restaurants. So in a sense it was a good thing they were closed on one day so we had to go somewhere else 😅 We ended having one bad experience with them though. We had booked a tour and told them that we have limited time and asked what they can prepare so we'll be on time. In the end we got only one of the two portions we ordered and had to run. But the next morning the hotel lobby gave us a letter of apology from them with all of our money in it! This place is easily one of my favorite places anywhere! Just don't get the waffles if you're in a hurry 😉

Definitely a restaurant to try when you are in town. We ordered the shrimp ceviche. It comes with cooked shrimp in a well marinated pico and lime. I would have preferred fish, but it was still good. The fried plantains with it was a great touch. We ordered the pork tacos and smoked pork belly on fried jack. I really liked the thick and flavorful handmade corn tortillas for the tacos. It had more flavor than your standard corn tortilla. The fried jack was a good and different tortilla option. The smoked pork was really good with all the fresh veggies.

If you come by cruise ship anchor a few miles offshore. Passages are brought to the dock by tenders. It’s terminals one through three which is primarily a shopping mall with some restaurants scattered throughout. Stores offer the typical tourist T-shirts, travel bags and etc. For the most part the prices are extremely reasonable. Unfortunately did not have time to explore outside of the terminal area but there’s so much to see and do in Belize. If you are a scuba diver this is a great destination because whale sharks migrate here.

Being greeted not only with an amazing 😉 smile 😊 but also by name by William who walked out of The 501hub to greet my sister Liv Taylor and I was incredible! I was initially concerned that my ice tea drink would not be allowed in this space since it was from outside but to my surprise it wasn’t even looked at or mentioned and I really appreciated this. It showed their high level of professionalism!

The artwork displayed and creativity of the entire way the hub is set up, from design to colors, to sections, decor, etc was so captivating and vast that I may find something new each time I go back. I particularly LOVED the Afrocentric and female empowerment themed art as it made me feel more than welcome 🙏 in this space.

The menu included many vegan options, which was the main reason my sister and I wanted to check out this place. I decided to try their vegan waffles made with sweet potato and pumpkin 🎃. I am very particular about having crunch on my waffles for texture and they did not disappoint with the crunch! It was JUST the way I liked it! The taste was deliciously unique and so amazing it didn’t need any syrup or sauce. The portion was perfect (not too much and not too little).

William also volunteered to take photos for us when he saw my sister and I exploring the place. Through this exploration, we met Reece, their behind-the-scenes social media person who also took pictures for us and even showed us what setting to use on the phone for amazing pics!

We also met the owner, Lorena who was more than courteous in checking to see how we se doing and sharing how her idea for the 501 Came to life and additional plans she has for the place.

We also met the incredible Chef Adan. He pointed out that he remembered me from some dance fitness sessions we used to take together and that was really cool.

I was pleasantly surprised that they had a vegan dessert on the menu which was a pumpkin and pineapple 🍍 pie 🥧. It was filling and not too sweet which was great. The pineapple ice cream was so wonderful, as well as the popcorn 🍿 “cheese!”

I am sad I had to leave early but know that I will certainly be back! The love and hospitality of the entire 501 team was second to NONE! I now have a new favorite spot to dine for breakfast, lunch and...

Jim at the 501Hub has created an amazing unique experience for for tourist and locals alike. We stayed upstairs at the great house inn (also fantastic) and even with all the options around us choose to dine there every single day of our stay. The drinks were superb the food was awesome and again Jim the proprietor was absolutely fabulous and made my girlfriend and I feel like his family every single day and even seeing him outside of the restaurant. Also ask for Charles he’s the hardest working young man I’ve seen and did everything in his power to accommodate and educate us. Thanks again Jim and Charles for making the experience...
