The Ol' Tackle Box Restaurant & bar — Restaurant in Belize District

We got to the ol tackle bar nice and early before our departure from the island. We arrived at 10:35, as our ferry would leave at noon. We were the only patrons in the place for 40 minutes, after placing our orders immediately. We waited 50 minutes, with no food. The disappointment came when 4 locals entered the place and received their food within 10 minutes of waiting. After an hour and still no food, we decided to simply leave. No apology, no nothing.

One thing I will say so as not to sound so negative… my wife enjoyed the coconut mojito.

We had an okay dinner here, but I found other options in the area to be better value and experience. The portions of food were too small for the prices. The service was only okay. Food took a while to come out. And I ordered a salad and an entree, so then I was surprised when the entree came with a side salad as well, which was great but not described on the menu. I think a good server should have checked that wanted both salads. The location is good, with a nice breeze...

We had the coconut snapper and it blew me out of the water of how tasty it was. We had the conch ceviche, hummus and onions rings for the appetizer. I regret not taking pictures of the appetizers though. The service was subpar, so I can’t say anything good about that.
