Absolutely the worst dinner we've experienced here in 30 years on the island. Let me start by saying the ambiance of the grounds and just inside the main area was gorgeous. Sadly, although we did have reservations for 8:30, we never saw the dining room up on the second floor. Having acknowledged that our party of 12 was pre confirmed, a situation happened and they gave our table away. Promising us we would be seated soon, finally at 10 pm they put two wooden tables together for us just inside the downstairs doors. They did offer us a small glass of complimentary champagne. We had pre ordered our dinners the day before so the staff, or what we saw of them should have been prepared. Our amuse bouche was finally delivered at 10:30. The table was bare, no utensils to eat it with until we asked. Then we had to ask again for napkins! One of our party went to the kitchen 3 times to ask. The wine pairing never happened and portions were extremely small. All the white wine was warm and we were given a bowl with half melted ice to put in our wine. And I must mention that there were no water glasses or water on the table. We asked for water and they brough out 12 plastic warm bottles with no glasses! Really high class lol! The food portions were extremely small and sadly disappointing in taste. We were finally served the main course at midnight so we couldn't even go out to watch the fireworks. At almost 1am we got our dessert which resembled and tasted like plain yogurt with a little passion fruit puree on top. We all left hungry but our good humor filled our tummys. Thank heavens for good company. This was an evening...
Read moreI had the luxury of experiencing one of Abrazos’s Villa one month before they officially opened. The environment is welcoming, the aesthetic is rustic yet very modern. The contemporary art and well designed decor makes every head turn worth it. They offer luxury, sophistication and an experience that is unique to you. The customer service was top notch! My husband and I, first found this place on a random evening, we were intrigued with the classic yet cultural design, the food menu was a nice blend of Belizean culture and European cuisine. The service, and exquisite food menu motivated us to book an overnight stay. We were very pleased with the villa, it was designed with the customer in mind. The open concept for the living area and kitchen gave the perfect modern feeling, , whilst the bed room view over looking the Caribbean Sea and pool, along with the couple showers and soak tub, gave the right amount of privacy and romance. The villa is designed for a romantic luxurious experience, they have huge closet space for long stays, and a surround sound built in with the TV’s for entertainment....
Read moreOnly good thing about our experience was the dining company. 4 hours from reservation time to dessert!! Room was over booked and we were placed in lobby - table and seating uncomfortable. No utensils offered until One of our guests got up to request. Every course the food was cold and did not taste good. The chicken dish was very tough. At 1 point took 3 requests and 45 minutes for a scotch and water order. There was to be a pairing with each course - the 1st pairing came with the 3rd course and then zero attempt to bring any further pairing. Then the audacity to present the full bill. There was a discussion inviting for a return comp visit - not likely… curious why a comp wasn’t proffered same night. For the price point a the culinary accolade on web site we reasonably had higher expectations. Hope they will do an internal...
