My family and I were in San Pedro, Belize for Lobster fest and decided to dine at the Deck. The service was terrible, the food was horrible and overpriced. We waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken, 15 minutes or more for drinks to be served, 1 hour for our food. The lobster was full priced, dry, overcooked & overcharred on the grill (during lobster season lobster is supposed to be half price). The "loaded" potato was a boiled peeled potato with sour cream, the roasted corn with queso fresco was a small burnt corn on the cob cut in two with no butter or cheese. I returned my food and did not request a substitution. I wish I had a taken a picture. I do not recommend this place...
Read moreMisleading prices and massively overpriced wine, otherwise a good experience. Prices on the menu are USD, not BZ--uncommon on the island. The check will include an extra 10.5% service charge for hotel employees, not the tip. These are stated in the fine print, easily missed on the menu. The food was good, prepared well. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Location is fantastic. When we got the check, the USD$22 for what was a ~3ou pour of a mediocre red wine was the low point. Saw the same bottle at a retail store on the island for about USD$25 (for the whole bottle). Enjoy the food and experience,...
Read moreWe went in without a reservation and the staff was really accommodating and got us a table. Having read the reviews, our plan was to sample the wood fired pizza. We ordered three pies (Margherita, Pepperoni and pineapple/jalapeno). Our overall impression of the pizza was that it was OK. The dough was not flavorful as one would expect for wood fired pizza and lacked salt. The Margherita pizza was definitely not authentic and had way too much cheese, not enough basil flavor and not enough "bite" to it. Overall, the pizza was acceptable but not worth the hype. I would skip the pizza if I went here...
