Jambel Jerk Pit — Restaurant in San Pedro Town

A great experience here at Jameel Jerk Pit. I went here for an early dinner around 5pm. I was greeted and sat immediately. My waiter was great, very friendly, and provided recommendations and answered many questions I had. A friend and I ordered two Rum Punches for drinks, not the best but no real complaints. The food was delicious! We ordered the red snapper and oxtails. Some of the best food I have in my two weeks in San Pedro! Food was seasoned to perfection and had a tiny tiny bit of spice which was perfect for me. Something I noticed across many Belizean restaurants and not just this one is that the portion of rice is rather small comparatively to other countries I’ve visited. This past weekend my group of 8 stumbled upon Jambel's Jerk Pit while walking the beach. The next day we made it a point to eat at the restaurant and we were able to sit at a table and was waited on immediately. Although I was the only vegan in the group Fitz made sure to provide me with the best options on the menu and the dishes that I tried were great. The guys in the group went on a 1/2 day fishing expedition and was able to bring their catch to the restaurant for a reasonable fee. The fish was prepared in a few different ways and served with sides and everyone enjoyed the dishes that were prepared. We were in the mood for some Jerk Chicken and decided to try this place as it was very close to our hotel. Lovely and friendly staff that recommended popular items for us. We tried the Oxtail and Curry Goat as well as Jerk Wings. We told them we like our food spicy and they delivered. I highly recommend all three items. Before we left, instead of desert we asked if they have Jamaican beef patties, which is not on the menu. They did and made them fresh for us. While not as flaky, it was delicious.
