Take a moment to enjoy the calm and excellent food at this wonderful special gem of a restaurant. Follow the little trail, by the sign, through the foliage to discover a sophisticated relaxing oasis amongst the Sea Grape Trees, Palms, and nature friends. You will find nice elevated patios built around the trees with an assortment of orchids and wildlife weaving throughout. Food: Be sure to order a croissant! They are huge and made to perfection! Pairs perfectly with their made-to-order coffee. We arrived for a late breakfast, ordered the Spanish Omelette + cheese with a plain Croissant and Crepes with fruit with a Chocolate Croissant. Everything was delicious and both pairings will completely will satisfy your sweet or savory tooth. It was clear the person/people preparing our food take pride in the details and presentation of the meals. Environment: Choose your table inside or outdoors amongst the canopy of assorted green leaves. The shade is welcoming, but the light through the trees is stunning. Enjoy watching hummingbirds zoom in and throughout. Keep an ear out for their territorial chirps and chatters as they dance and chase each other. Enjoy Altamira Orioles, cooing Doves, and other feathered friends. Keep an eye out for the lizards playing tag! They hop among the trees and leaves and occasionally will bop their head between sprinting and pausing. If you hear scrambling on the tin roof or shaking in the branches, it is likely an Iguana(s)seeking the best sun spot or perfect perch. Additional: Service was friendly and accommodating. Free Wi-Fi! Clean restrooms. Kid friendly. I personally recommend if bringing children, let them know ahead of time, this is a special place to look and listen for pretty birds and wildlife (quietly) so everyone else can enjoy the immersive experience as well!

Well I WANTED to leave this place a 5 star review until I got our bill. After ordering a 2nd glass of wine I asked if the waitress only opened it for me (since I was the only there drinking red wine) and she said yes. So I asked if she could just change my order to the bottle instead of the 2 glasses and she said yes. Well we not only got charged $16 (belize) for the one glass but then $75 (bz) for the rest of the bottle! Now, KNOWING they sell this at the local supermarket AND the bottle literally had the $25 price tag on it we tried to "argue" the price. I know restaurants usually charge more than the worth of the bottle but 3x its price? Pretty sure our poor waitress got yelled at by the owner for not removing the tag but they also didn't budge on the price. So sad. The food was good but their ethics, not so much. The rest of the restaurants on the island seem to be more friendly and not try to cheat you on prices.

What a fun little hidden gem! Great food and not the typical Caye Caulker fare. If you're a francophile who enjoys a flawless Croque Madam for breakfast, Suggestion is a must stop. We were there off season and on a weekday. So quiet - but service was both snappy and friendly while keeping a nice Caye Caulker vibe. Please understand that I'm a loud, obnoxious, American Boomer who pretends to speak any language so when I say they are friendly give them double points for putting up with me! Of course there's a full bar and the menu is quite varied - but I just love a French breakfast! I will be returning to Suggestion Gourmet. Damn near daily.

I stayed on the island for 7 days and this was hands down my favorite restaurant. My best friend and I did a Galentine’s Day dinner here and loved it so much we brought our husbands back the very next day.

Don’t sleep on the veggie lasagna. I love lasagna but red sauces tend to be too rich for my sensitive body. I usually pay for it. Well this lasagna was perfection in every way. It came out looking a bit deflated and lacking layers, so that made us chuckle, but you won’t even care once you have that first bite. It featured crushed tomatoes for the sauce, making it a much lighter dish that didn’t upset my stomach (which still wouldn’t have made me love it any less). I normally have at least chicken in my lasagna but just the veggies was divine and I had the exact same meal the following night.

Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well and we all took advantage trying a bit of everything. The baba ganoush was soooo good; I’d never had it before!

The service was also wonderful. Everyone was friendly, attentive and helpful, offering great suggestions (alllll the puns intended) and even coordinating a taxi for us.

The location is so beautiful and intimate, inside and out. It’s tucked away from the noise of the roads which also made it feel like we’d found a hidden treasure. I’m so lucky this spot was just a 4 minute walk from where I was staying, at the Seremei Villas. I can’t...

My sister and I stopped here for dinner while staying a few doors down at our rental. As soon as we walked up, we were in love with the atmosphere. There is indoor seating and a bar, but the outside tables are where you want to be. The patio has a little river, bridge, and beautiful trees with magical string lights, and each table is far enough from each other to feel private and intimate, but still connected. The restaurant itself is more off the main part of the island, so if you’re looking for a quiet dinner or lunch this would be perfect. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, and even brought us some zucchini baba ghanoush complimentary of the restaurant. I’m not sure if that’s typical or not, but it was very appreciated, and it was delicious. We both chose to get a large margherita pizza to share, and added pepperoni to half. The crust was amazingly thin, crispy on the outside edges but tender near the center. The cheese to sauce ratio was perfect. Overall, we loved our experience and will be...
