Feels a little scammy.

Kids each ordered a 10" pepperoni pizza. I ordered a 14" Pizza. What came out was my 14" pizza on a pizza pan cut into 8 slices, and the kids received two square plates with 4 slices each of pepperoni pizza, arranged with the tips stacked atop each other in the middle. The pizza slices were identical in size and shape to my slices, and when we arranged them together, each plate had half of a 14" pizza on them. We chuckled, and wouldn't have said anything further but then our 4th meal was forgotten and we waited a very long time to receive it once we brought it to our servers attention. When it came time to pay, I was charged $28 x 2 for the two 10" pizzas instead of $40 for the obviously single pizza that they cut in half and presented on two separate plates. When I asked to pay for what I received, the cashier was very quick to panic and back away from the conversation and call in the owner/manager, who proceeded to argue up down and backwards that this was exactly what I ordered, if I wanted a single large pizza I should have ordered it, and that this is simply how it's presented. I still had leftovers from both pizzas, so I brought it over to her assuming she wasn't aware of what had happened, and when I laid the pepperoni slice on top of mine to show that they were the exact same size, she still insisted that I was mistaken, that it's just how it's presented, that she saw them come out of the oven and that everything was as it should be. I clarified, "you're not seriously insinuating that you saw three separate pizzas come out of the oven" a D she said "yes, I did." At this point I had lost track of how many times we had gone around in circles so I gave up as she was willing to lie so blatantly. She at least took the nachos off the bill when I pressed the issue of waiting almost an hour for them.

We planned to go back for breakfast the next day, but will not. The food was pretty good, but the service was lacking and the gaslighting...

Best Restaurant on the Island – A Must-Visit Every Time I’m in Belize!

Every time I’m in Belize, Coco Gardens is an absolute must on my to-do list. It’s hands-down the best restaurant on the island. The food is consistently amazing—I’ve never had a bad meal here! Some of my personal favorites are the nachos, empanadas, asado, burrito bowl, any of their fresh salads, and the steak. The seafood is incredibly fresh, and you can really taste the quality in every bite.

The drinks are just as memorable—highly recommend the margarita on the rocks or a refreshing michelada. Perfect pairings for a warm day!

And let’s talk about the view—absolutely stunning. Whether you’re there for lunch or dinner, the atmosphere adds so much to the experience. It's the kind of place where you can truly relax and soak in the beauty of Belize.

What really sets Coco Gardens apart is the service. The staff is warm, welcoming, and genuinely makes you feel at home. It’s some of the best service I’ve ever received in Belize, and it keeps me coming back time and time again.

We came here 2 times. First time, we tried a few items: (1) fried chicken burger, it was a huge burger with fries, the burger was garlic flavor and the fried chicken piece was huge and juicy. We all really like this (2) Bolognesa Pasta, this was also pretty good, (3) beef Taco, it came 4 tacos and it was yummy too. (4) shrimp tostones, I like the shrimp but the fried plantains is a bit dry to my taste; (5) pineapple juice, it was good but mostly ice not much juice. But in general all the dishes and drink we tried were pretty awesome.

The second time, we tried (1) buffalo wing, this was ok, a bit dry, nothing special (2) fish sticks (tapilla fish) , the fish has its strange fishy taste, even my daughter noticed it if you eat it by itself, if you dip lots of sauce then you can't tell(3) pesto chicken pasta, this was too dry, in all of their pasta, this one was not good(4) Alfredo pasta with shrimp, this pasta was good, the breads came with it was not good at all, soggy and the flavor was meh(5) mix ceviche , this was disappointed , the seafood doesn't taste as good, I think the lemon was over and the salt was lacking a bit.
